USA Petition
The longer we allow people to enter our country from Ebola-stricken areas, the higher the chance another person infected with Ebola will arrive here, putting ALL of our citizens at risk. Please tell the FAA to ban ALL incoming flights from any/all Ebola-stricken regions.

Mathematically, the logic is sound. The more people enter a country then the greater the risk.
Perhaps we should follow suit. America is now confirmed to have Ebola on its soil. Therefore we should blockade all flights from America. Can't be too safe.

Scaremongering.
The USA has contained the existence of the Bubonic plague for years. I've every faith In them to do the same with Ebola.

A meaningless petition system set up by an incompetent President.
The whole We the People is a farce.
That guy who sits in the White House (Martha's Garden or golfing) couldn't give a rat's azz, unless it benefited his Progressive/Leftist agenda. Better yet, beyond his pen or telephone can't do squat.

I've said for years that the USA should seal its borders to all travelers. This provides the ideal excuse.

e bola is like the new bubonic plague sounds harsh but look at it this way...it could be natures way of whittling down an over populated country which has too many people living in it.
but it needs to be contained on the african continent to prevent worldwide infection
no doubt sir scruffy and the great unwashed will be persuading us to dig deep again in the near future unless the TV ads from oxfam and the other hand outs dont get there first.

It's just a petition started by a single or small group of individuals. What's the big deal? There are great petitions out there too, i.e. 'against Citizens United' (which I am); 'net neutrality', tons of petitions on all kinds of issues. Making a mountain out of a molehill Bruv.

Did anyone else recall The Simpsons episode on Ebola getting Into the USA that was aired back In 1997 ? Rather prophetic I feel.

My gosh, what does it take?
Sorry (not really) I didn't write a 500 word essay.
I'll keep it simple.
The We the People is at taxpayers expense a phony site to allow people to DO SOMETHING and think it actually mattered.
You got a problem with ACA?

It started off as being rather interesting & thought provoking, but then, once he started going on about Conspiracy Theories, it lost all credibility.

Well, there is a certain entertainment value to the thing, and the cost of it is minimal.
And every now and again, a good idea that is worth pursuing gets dropped in there.

Today's news item...UK to begin enhanced screening for Ebola in people travelling from affected countries, government announces.

This presumably includes the USA?
Tosh. Pigs will sooner fly than the UK government should discommode American travelers.

The US is doing the same thing. Though not sure what help it will provide, unless they are tracking passengers from their origination point.

There are no direct flights from the affected countries apparently, into the UK anyway.

So the people in question have left the affected countries, and traveled through at least one other airport somewhere, to get to the UK. I suspect the same for entry into the US.
If they prove to be infected when they arrive in London, or New York, or wherever, there is a good chance that they have already exposed a number of fellow travelers.
Something about a barn door comes to mind.

Reminds me of when I actually wrote letters to some of my various elected representatives.
An original answer (or seemingly so) was more valued than the standard bla bla bla we so often hear, like on Featured Responses
If there was something to standout, no doubt that guy (or lackey) would make hay on it.
