Apparently Boots are producing a new line of perfumes/scents which have unusual smells - I believe one smells like the ash from your hearth ! Whatever turns you on, I say. So what smell or aroma would you like to preserve, that isn't already preserved ?
I think I would like to preserve the smell of new mown grass, although I'm not sure if I would appreciate another human being smelling of new mown grass ! :wah:

Another smell I love is the smell of freshly ground/percolated coffee ! But there again I'm not sure if I would like somebody else to smell of freshly percolated coffee, although having thought about it, maybe it would be a darn sight better than stale sweat ! :yh_rotfl

What about that smell after a shower on a hot summers day ?
Or honeysuckle at sunset ?
That smell you get off freshly picked tomatoes ?
A bonfire of leaves on the autumn breeze ?
But please don't bottle them, they wouldn't be special then would they ?

The Ocean, but that's been done already, on 'Seinfeld.' If they can bottle the sound of the roar of waves hitting the shore that would be fine, too.
Gill, the Ocean makes me smile & many other things, too numerous to list.

I like the smell of fresh asphalt.
Not sure how that would translate to a perfume.

Normally I can't stand the smell of perfumes, as women have a tendency to put on far too much & it results in not only being overpowering, but in bringing about allergic reactions by making eyes sting, which isn't good when you're on stage & the women in front of you reek of the stuff.
Having said that, however, there is one particular one that I do like, when used very sparingly. I don't know what it is, but it smells of chocolate. I'm sure the ladies among you will know the one I mean.

Or fresh laundry right off the clothesline in summer.
Or a baby's breath.

Somehow to bottle a smell doesn't appeal to me.

I love the smell of wood smoke that is fingering its lazy way into the sky on a summer's evening. Not sure if I would appreciate the aroma of wood smoke creeping out from under a fella's armpit though ! :yh_rotfl:

Similarly, as I've previously mentioned elsewhere on the forum, despite being totally Eco-Unfriendly, I do love the smell of newly lit coal fires when there's a chill in the air.

How about a log fire in the grate, when the snow is on the ground outside. That is a very comforting and homely smell, and it would be fun to be able to bottle that aroma so that one could experience it even when the fire isn't lit !

You can probably buy most essences now In the way of difusers.
I have just had the following conversation with my husband.

Him... **** knows
well, didn't you look when you bought It ?
Yeah, It was £3 less than the others there.
So you don't know what It Is ?
Nope
Oh good, glad we cleared that one up.
Meanwhile, I'm getting essence of bubblegum with a hint of juniper and pilchard overtones.

I love the smells of a the fishing harbor early in the morning. Kinda miss that here in the middle of the country. Can't wait for my next trip back East.
If they could figure out how to put that in an Air Wick Bottle, I would pay handsomely.

Oh yeah... when we were kids, my parents had a chalet bungalow In Brixham In the Bay of Torbay. It's not there any more but the fish market started unloading around 4 am when the trawlers came In. There was something about that smell that takes me right back there.

When I was a teenager I was so smitten by the charm and beauty of Brigitte Bardot that I imagined even her farts would smell lovely.

I'm not sure if that qualifies?
