It's important my friends like me and I fit in with them.

I've always had friends that I don't mix with other friends, they just don't get on but I get on with all of them. Most of my friends are ones I've had for years, always there in times of need, as I am for them (where possible on both sides, after all we each have our own issues going on sometimes that means we are unable (mentally or physically) to just drop and run)).

I'm not worried about fitting in or being liked in the bigger world, I understand that some just won't like me and me them. It's not anything I worry about and I am trying so hard to encourage my daughter to be the same, life is not a competition in popularity.

I tend to be very sceptical about those who claim friendship of those that supposedly like them, after constantly seeing, first hand, all the back biting that goes on, with all nicey-nicey smiles to their faces. Knowing how they can be like that to others means that I have no doubt they are likely to be talking about me in exactly the same way & consequentially am very lothe to fully trust anyone. People are not logical.

I am surrounded by loving family and have a full social life... You can't make people like you so I don't try. Either they do or they don't... what I won't do Is worry or lose sleep over It.

Some people try way too hard to be liked, trying to be all things to all people... I don't like people like that.

My greatest compliment Is when someone says ' that's typical of J****' even when I am being an arssehole... I don't bend for anyone... That's me... like It or lump It...

I was chatting with a friend recently and we decided that we all have a head full of different thoughts. Even if these thoughts seem similar in content, they are all processed slightly differently by the life experiences we've had. So, in a way, we are all unique and, if our individual thoughts were exposed to everyone, there would be little fitting in with anyone else.

Does that make sense? Thought not!

Not really.

People either get on or don't, just be pleasant to everybody and hope you get the same back.

I can 'get on' with people I don't like, and have disagreements with those I do like.

Yeah, kind of makes sense to me. We certainly all have friends we discuss certain issues with and others we wouldn't bother or maybe dare discuss certain issues with. There's not many of my friends who have followed the same path as me, but there are many that have shared snippets and have shed different lights on perspectives that can be taken.

For me, I guess that when I spend time with friends I adapt and adjust to spending time with that specific person. But a day later I have adapted and adjusted to another friend. In no way am I fitting in to the extent that I lose me, the majority of my friends know my views and beliefs as I know theirs and on points that we disagree we are adult enough to just accept that we do and don't waste any time trying to change their views and beliefs.

Don't think so, since I never was very good at fitting in. Don't really like most people enough to try.

It's not terribly important to me, but sure, at least to a degree it is. I think everyone likes to be liked. In other words, people who go out of their way to be disliked have huge problems imo.

I don't go out of my way to be disliked... I just don't pander to anyone. That's the difference. When we start pandering to people just to be liked, that's when resentment sets In.

The people In my life are there because they want to be not because we are faking It to be liked.

I believe it is human nature to want to be liked and accepted by others .. ...

I would say it is important to me ... I can't believe people accept rejections ...

Why would anyone want to be an outcast ...

On the other hand .. I stand by my principals .. I will not follow others

.. just to be accepted ..

Nor will I let someone tell me who i should like or dislike ....

I always form my own opinions on people .. I detest people

who listen to other to form an opinion on someones ...

Can't say it bothers me if someone dislikes me usually they are not people I would enjoy the company of anyway. I prefer people see me as honest and caring rather than dishonest or nasty. But I cannot control how others behave so don't really think much about it these days. Took me a while to get to that place but now I am here it's better than worrying about what people think.

Yes, being liked has always been important to me and through all of my life thus far I have had no difficulty fitting in with what ever group I wish to associate with.
