A few days ago, my hot water went off.

Geezer comes out and turns the water pressure up.

Sorted

This afternoon I open the walk In Airing cupboard and out pours water.

Everything Is soaked... spare duvets, spare pillows. dog bedding, clothes, towels... everything Including the vacuum cleaner and a suitcase.

Worse... water has got Into the electricity switch and short circuited the entire house.

My Freezer Is full of Lobster, crab, meats and all Christmas goodies and It's on It's way to defrost.

Husband says ' oh well, at least I've still got you '

I don't know whether to laugh or cry.

Just got the electric sorted but my bathroom Is now full of wet everything.... and Boiler can't be fixed tonight... no heating or hot water,

It's not too bad here at the moment to be fair...quite mild and I have triple glazing. I do have an electric convector heater If It gets too bad....

And you could always make a bonfire of your election material in the bath if it gets too bad.

As the saying goes, "Winter Draws On".

I've found that ever since the flats have been refurbished to the hot running water / heating system, where the immersion heater has been replaced by a heat exchanger tank, the water takes so much longer to heat up & even then doesn't get as hot as I'd like it - especially when it comes to shaving. If I've had a bath the previous night, that often requires I heat a kettle up.

I don't have a tank... I have a Gas Combi.... On tap hot water.

Looks like the plumber was at fault... turned the pressure up to the max last week which caused It to burst.

We don't have gas, as such. The hot water comes from a central gas boiler in the roof of the block, which supplies all the flats. This supply provides heating & hot water - although I don't understand why, seeing their's already hot water going through the heat exchanger in the first place, why that can't be used directly rather than using it to heat water in the tank, which is not going to use all the energy used to heat the water in the first place. Maybe I don't fully understand how the system works, but it doesn't seem logical to me.

Wait. So you had a problem with the water heater, and his solution was to turn up the pressure?

Brilliant.

Yep, I suppose It's partly my fault for letting him do It but I'm not trained In Gas Combi boilers and didn't know any different.

I now have two electric fan heaters Inside the airing cupboard trying to dry It and the electrics out... I've got a bathroom full of wet duvet's, bedding, towels etc etc which will take a week to rewash and dry and worse the dogs have been paddling In the water that spilled out Into the hall after they had been In the garden and now that's everywhere.... and breathe...
