When you vote for someone ...

What is your style ... do you vote for their personality or what they promise you..

I try to find genuine people ...

I dislike people who try to rack up votes ...with their fake personality ...

or hypocritical ways

I don't try to analyze people as far as voting for them goes. I use and trust my intuition instead. Works for me.

It would be a cold day in Hell if I voted Republican.

I can never remember which is which with Republican & Democrat. Which one's Right Wing & which is Left.

Personally I tend to go by the overall policies of the party they represent, which is why I'm a staunch Labour supporter. Sure, there are policies in the Labour manifesto I strongly object to. There are also policies in the Tory manifesto I strongly agree. FFS, there's even the occasional one or two in the BNP manifesto I agree with, but when it comes to voting I balance up which party agrees most with my way of thinking. For instance, Labour is Pro-Europe, whereas I am totally Anti-Europe, although I am in favour of a Common Market. It is for this reason that at the EU Elections I voted UKIP (as did a massive proportion of the country, which really should give the other Pro-EU parties food for thought).

Party mostly, but luckily for me the party's I may choose to vote for have nice candidates who do listen to the locals.

The party that I don't like at all have obnoxious pompous gits that stand year after year and I would never vote for them.

Personality or promises.

It helps a lot that somebody has a personality I like.

The promise is another subject.

Think about it.

Most voters .. vote for promises ...

Maybe if they voted for a politician with moral and values ...

and not broken promises .. the world would be a much better place ...

Politician and their promises ...that is the biggest joke of the year ...

Why do people believe them .. they break promises ... all the time ....

That is pretty much what happened in Australia during the last election. The Liberal party promised all the stuff voters wanted. They won and then broke most of their promises. Their popularity has taken a nose dive.

Years ago on another web site I did something similar.

Wrote a comment, thought better of it. Couldn't delete it so I edited it to a single period.

.

Comments to that ran like,

"Got your point"

"Point made clear"

"Point well taken"

Fellow posters had a lot of fun with that.

I like the drunk politician interpretation. Maybe, but I'm not into modern art.

Well, I'm standing In the General Election In May In England.

I am very well known In the Ward and the City.

I make no promises.

They'll either vote for me or they won't. I promise nothing. My elections leaflets are based on what I've done already for residents In the Ward. I certainly won't be trying to fake It. For as many supporters that I have, I'll have equal opponents... that's life... I certainly won't be trying to court votes.

It makes no diffference who you vote for. The Government always gets in.

The actual quote is:

"It makes no difference who you vote for - the two parties are really one party representing four percent of the people."

No, it is actually a different quote, although its origin appears to be anonymous from a grafitto in the 70s. Also it was used as a song title by the Bonzo Dog Doo Dah Band.

I voted exactly the way you do when I was younger and more naive. I assumed that the system was set up so that the best man would win. Silly me. In a "first-past-the-post" system, which is what exists everywhere today, the positions and parties will devolve into a two party system no matter what happens. Now, I pick the party that is slightly more to my liking, the Democrats, and vote party ticket in every election.

Historically, the Republicans destroy the economy every time they are in power. But it's all pretty meaningless to me, I carry on and muddle through no matter what. I've always positioned myself in careers that are independent of the economy. The military first, food service second, education third. Fortunes are won and lost...but I abide.

This video explains what I'm trying to say better:
