Why do people have to hurt children ????

More than 130 people, including 100 students, have been killed and 122 others injured in a Taliban seizure of a military-run school in the city of Peshawar, Pakistan, according to provincial authorities.

The numbers of dead and injured may still rise as the casualties of the assault are counted.

Some 500 students and teachers were in the Army Public School on Warsak Road at the time of the attack. Pakistan’s military said most of the civilians escaped, but some had been taken hostage by the assailants.

If you really want to terrorise people go for their children.

I don't actually consider child killers "people," or "humans." They are animals, devoid of the empathy and compassion

It would help If we knew what particular part of the world or civil war you were talking about. The world as a whole does not kill children.

In such places as Iraq and Syria, they are killed for being the wrong religion and to wipe out what they see as opposing religions.

With Sunni vs Shea, they are killed because It's viewed they are future killers of their own.

Here are a few example ...why children ...

Columbine High School massacre..... 12 students and one teacher ...

Connecticut elementary school .......27 people dead, including 20 children,

I could go on ... they are children and they were killed ...

These children were not from Iraq and Syria,

Why that is my question ... not pointing finger on religion or places ...

I personally know someone who murdered there entire family ..his wife .. three sons .. father in law and

his friend ...and himself .... It was my girlfriend's brother ..

This might sound strange .. but he was a real great guy ...plus he was a school teacher

at one time ..He was funny , kindhearted .. I knew him for over 40 years

If you believe the bible or the koran is the word of god there is tremendous scope for all kinds of atrocities and before the west get too smug and blame islam remember the holocaust was inspired by two thousand years of propoganda against the jews as the killers of jesus.

The essence of the dispute between shia and sunni is the same as that between catholic and protestant do you find salvation through following a creed or by a personal conversation with god and both christian and muslim teach that their god is the only right one. It's structured insanity that takes hold where people are not educated to think for themselves destroy education and you destroy the ability to resist.

We get the same thing in the UK, seperate religious school to indoctrinate a new generation of bigots and we protect the right of bigots to preserve their prejudice.

You can resopect the right of someone to their belief but why should that belief system be sancrosanct when it causes so much hate.

There seem to be two sorts of crimes, one where some people are for whatever reason sexually attracted to children. It is considered taboo to feel that way and some do go on to abuse. I do think there are a lot that are attracted but don't actuallu act on that attraction. Obviously every single abuser knows it is 'wrong' which is why they make sure they exert some sort of power over their victim, ie 'no one will believe you', 'I will hurt your family' type of threats etc. Maybe it is time to start letting these people come out of the closet as it were, and then provide them with some sort of correction programme with support, maybe I mean conditioning programme to retrain their brains.

The other crime of gunmen targeting children is a difficult one. They maybe pick the children element so they get more of a blaze of glory on the way out, after all it is almost an act of cowardly suicide, I'll do something so bad someone else will pull the trigger. Children are the one thing guaranteed to be seen as 'ah those poor innocent children' so the killer gets a huge wave of public attention when he storms a school. I can only assume that such killers are particularly mentally ill, and all nations appear to fail when it comes to dealing with mental illness. Surely we need earlier intervention and more resources to start trying to work out why gunmen target the children and why some feel the need to get sexual gratification from children who have not even hit puberty themselves.

I'm not even sure the people that commit such crimes are even able to say exactly why they do it. Is it some way of exerting control over another? Obviously children are vulnerable and can therefore be an easy and pliable target. They are all horrific and sad situations that society needs to address and try to make sense of.

I have tried to watched that video, but only managed a small part of it. The follow up to it was a report the aggressor was imprisoned and beaten to an inch of her life.........which I find almost as repugnant as her crime.......but one I can understand.....just.

Even if it were understood, although it won't be in our lifetimes, how can it be predicted? I don't believe it will ever be solved. Also, I'm guessing you also mean murder & war in general, not just children. For me, it comes down to: we are animals called human beings and we kill--whether for ideology, from fear, from anger, from psychosis--we kill, we harm, we maim, we destroy. In a war, we are called soldiers when we do these things.

When I see or hear of animals, particularly cats & dogs, beaten by their "owners" (I recently heard of a man gouging out his cat's eye) I get that sick feeling "How Could You?" "What's Wrong with YOU?" "HOW can You DO This?"

The answer is the same. We look in a mirror, & it is US. We are capable of monstrous cruelty. Be happy most of us don't.

I understand the girl was employed as a Nanny or Sissy by a well off African family in Ghana, 'well off' being employed as a Teacher or Police and getting a regular wage.

She would live as a Cinderella like family member, doing all the family chores, putting up with physical abuse to enable her to support her extended family with the paltry wages in virtual slavery.

Which doesn't excuse her, but which might go some way to explain such retaliation to a defenseless child

I think you hit on a wonderful point, as usual I may add. When people are treated like sh!t, especially since childhood, that is generally what they become. I am also not excusing, just explaining.

You are right Bruv it truly is not an excuse but I do admire you .. for looking at the whole picture and trying

to make some sort of sense out of it .. It shows your character ... at least you are open minded ...

it is easy to condemn people .. but you try an look for the other side of the story ...

Totally agree, my daughters bullies must lead awful lives that they need to make someone else's life hell to get through day to day. I'm always telling my daughter to ignore and just send them thoughts of love because those bullies must need it desperately.
