Pregnant Woman's Baby Cut From Womb at Craigslist Meet in Colorado: Cops - NBC News

I have never bought or sold anything on Craigslist - have any of you?

My son sells old furniture on it and buys stuff, but all I've ever really heard is the police stories.

This happened in my town. Our waitress at dinner last night knows the young lady that this happened to.

It is pretty strange story.

It's not really about craigslist. It could have been the Thrifty Nickle, or a newspaper add, or even Ebay (those those cost money up front, making them a little less desirable to the predator.

Bottom line, it's usually a good idea to NOT travel alone, or visit a strange place alone, particularly if you are young and female. Even I seldom go to a strange home alone, these days.

I use Craigslist a lot, and it has never been a problem.

The assailant must have surgically removed the baby ?

Surely that takes cooperation and skill, what a bizarre story.

If you don't care in what condition the baby ends up. it is actually pretty simple.

Update.

As it turns out, the woman had been trained as a delivery nurse, and had assisted on some number of Cesarean deliveries. A remark from one of the ER staff at the hospital was that she did a very good job of it.

This event has been the talk of town lately. The woman apparently had claimed to be pregnant last year, and the alleged father of the child married her. As the due date came and went, she was apparently feeling the pressure to produce a child.

another development: There has been a right-wing movement in Colorado to declare fetuses as legal persons, and therefore under the protection of homicide laws. This has fired them up, yet again.

I get an overwhelming feeling of sadness attached to this story.

The tragic mother and father lost their child and the prospect of another, the nurses husband has been tricked into marriage with a woman with major issues.............one of those tales where nobody wins.

There is nowt as strange as folk.
