I have, as it happens, seen Season 6. Those of us who lived through the periods depicted might concede that they pretty accurately reflect the attitudes and look of the times. The police were heavily politicized, lied through their teeth and beat the hell out of anyone they felt needed beating. These days they just shoot whoever they set out to ambush. They are not programs I enjoy.

Yes but we respected the police, you could trust a priest and there were no paedophiles all was for the best in the best of all possible worlds nowadays due to the lack of family values we find paedophiles everywhere people don't go to church anymore nobody respects authrity anymore all the gays have come out of the closet and no one is supposed to beat them up any more and worst of all bankers are pariahs to evrybody except the westminster elite who still line up to kiss their arses. This is all due to the internet and people forgtting we are all in this together.

I do enjoy watching Insp. George Gently. Martin Shaw is one of my favourite actors, along with Michael Kitchen from Foyle's War. When Martin Shaw was in The Professionals with his fuzzy hair, I really didn't think much of him but he has matured into quite a distinguished fella and he is more 'dishy' to me now than he was then ! :yh_whistl:yh_sigh :yh_worshp

The Church has always been notorious for its paedophile activities - the Catholic Church in particular - probably as a result of their so called vows of chastity. The only difference is that it's not until recent years that the public have started moving away from the brainwashed control & fear of the Church & have dared to question the self appointed direct line ambassadors to God. The trust was a result of ignorance or a concious decision to turn a blind eye to it. Personally I've always wondered what the deal is with the iconic paintings of cherubs (naked boys) in the churches are all about. After all, to the best of my knowledge there's no mention of them in the Bible. It's no more than early Porn.
There is deserved trust, and there is trust by deception. The Church has always been the latter.
