Well, despite screwing up the bike test, it does have its consolation. Whilst I was on the track I got a VoiceMail, which was from my new employer confirming my new start date.

I officially start next Monday. 09:00 - 17:00 for the first week in order to do some shadowing, then onto the 14:00 - 22:30 thereafter.

It'll be similar in many ways to what I'm already doing on the call lines (mainly incoming), only this with be for a Care company specialising in independent living. I'll be on the Out Of Hours Support for the Emergency Lines.

Best of luck to you.

I worked a late shift many years ago (amongst various other shifts).............they would have to pay me double at least, for me to even think about it now.

I'm the other way round. I prefer nights, but of course with admin based jobs it's not always so easy to get them. Even if the pay were the same for all hours, I'd still opt for the night ones. As it is, the pay's not too good, but there is potential for extra hours, and the night shift is on the higher rate.

Good luck to you on your new job.

I most favor day shift but did a lot of overnight. Crazy as it sounds when driving over the road I really liked the 24-hour shift. Maybe it just kept me from thinking how I would rather be home.

Good luck to you FourPart, in your new job. It's always a little strange starting in a new place with new people to have to get used to!
