I have just bought myself a cheap Chinese phone.

It is a Umi Hammer which in retrospect, I might have rushed into before it had been tried by the public, listening only to what the makers were telling the reviewers about the phone.

I shall find out if it was worth taking the gamble as time goes by, but it does look good so far, although there are some apps that can't be installed due to it having been rooted, missing my Bank's app.may prove a problem.

I had a very cheap Chinese phone myself a while ago. A Cubot. It was excellent. Did everything a Samsung does for a quarter of the price.

My problem was, I chose a phone that was too large for work and I ended up bending it in my pocket and ruining the LCD screen

It came rooted.

Problem being I have now given it a factory reset, messing it up a little, now I can't unroot it, its in sort of limbo.

This is from the phone, something I wouldn,t attempt on my previous one.

Try contacting the company, perhaps they can help or even possibly be willing to replace the phone since it's so new.

You just cant get away from all that crap nowadays. Despite promises to the contrary, my laptop came stuffed full of it. Including Norton. That's about as virulent as the stuff it's supposed to protect me from.
