You apparently disagree with some things I've posted and instead of engaging me on them you go and call me an arrogant know-it-all in a thread. Show me where you disagree with me (I mean, where I'm being an arrogant know-it-all) and show me where what I post is lacking coherence by proving it.

I realize, like the majority of members here, you prefer to think you're so philosophical about everything by not committing to any opinion. You're scared, and that's a pity, and it's because you don't know what it is you think so you can't articulate it.

Discussion forums are for presenting one's opinions and then establishing them through objective evidence. Writing posts like "so what do we do" instead of "here's what I've learned through research and thought" is avoiding real dialogue and a pretense of intellectual understanding.

As for me, before you go get another youtube video or comedy sketch to try to define me, I'm not very good at this stuff either, but I do try, and I am better at it today than I was yesterday.

I invite you to read your participation in this thread, don't know if you actually mention the topic, at the point I enter you haven't done so.

Your first comment arrogantly attacks Americans in general.

Tude is arrogantly attacked.........before he has posted.......and after.

You even arrogantly postulate Spot and yourself are working together to "draw them in"...................did you co-author the thread ?

And it goes on and on, and not only in that thread, it is not pleasant or productive................or endearing...............and that is why I said what I said.

What is the reason for your contribution ?

2) conspiracy theory accusation (Lars), to which I kid because Lars considers himself a patriot and I had forgotten about him as such to that point;

3) A direct personal attack on spot (Lars), which I chose to ignore to allow spot to address if he so chose to, which he didn't;

4) I then notice TD is replying and say so adding that I thought it would be entertaining because of his history of saying absolutely nothing of substance usually. He does in fact do that again by posting a completely irrelevant video (something the two of you have in common);

5) you join in then without addressing the topic but instead criticizing spot's posting style (a tactic you often use with many posts from any number of members you have a hair up your ass about)

6) Next is Lars' chide toward me;

7)Then Anne expresses resentment at me for something that has absolutely nothing to do with her;

8) I advise Anne her accusations at spot are inappropriate and unfounded;

9) And finally to wrap it up, Lars, you, Anne, and Smaug turn all your guns on me.

Have I missed anything, Bruv?

Well, what did you expect when you were busy 'kicking sand in everyone's supper', as Lars put it? I certainly don't enjoy 'having a go' at someone for no reason, though there are those that do. And they're usually the ones that carp and moan when 'taken to task' for it.

You can't deny that you can be rather offensive, blunt and provocative with people when the mood takes you, Ahso! That being the case, you can't complain when those same people retaliate....

There's an old saying; "It takes ONE to make a war, but TWO to make a friendship"....

I tend to treat people as I'm treated, unless I see someone being bullied or 'trolled', and as I can't stand bullies OR trolls, that's when I usually get involved. Maybe you could try being a little nicer to folk, and less profligate with the abbreviated profanities?

Just a few suggestions.

Just a few suggestions.No, no! I'm not complaining, I thought it was all very amusing. My reason for saying what I said was to clearly relate the episode as it unfolded. Of course nobody is disputing anything as I related it. They can't. The three of them had one intention in that thread and that was to harass the op. They have no case of being on topic. The thing is though, they do this so often that they can't see it, that's how normal it's become.

If there's one thing I've noticed on FG, it's that threads sometimes do go 'off-topic' quite quickly as the conversation wends it's way through any number of side issues, and various witty comments. It usually comes back 'on topic' if someone tactfully points out that the thread has diverged for long enough now.

Tact. 'Manners maketh man' is another old saying worth a mention, as is 'Reaping what you sow'....

Thanks Bruv. Seems like Ahso was having his pennyworth too...Just lay it out like there's participation, spot. You're not going to get any feedback as all the American patriots have left.

Seems to me that Ahso didn't like Spot's comment about ISIS being a tool of US foreign policy. I would say that ISIS is partly a result of WESTERN policy, rather than blaming it wholly on the US. Britain has been involved 'up to it's armpits' in aggressive foreign policy too, so no 'high ground' can be taken on this by us in the UK. Everyone has their own opinion on this subject; Anne disagreed with Spot, which she's entitled to do. Lars didn't seem to like Spot's post either. Can't say as I blame either of them. I also had a dig at Ahso because of his cocky attitude ( the billy goats quip). Ahso can't complain though; he was a major contributor! And also 'off topic' as badly as everyone else!!

As far as I can see, Spot is big enough to look after his own interests without Ahso's help. If someone makes a public post then they must expect feedback, whether positive OR negative. Thanks again for the link, Bruv.
