I've been picking grapefruit for over a month just to throw away.

I have a large grapefruit tree - produces 800 to 1200 ruby red grapefruit a year.

This year I have to throw them away. Usually our community would have collection drop off areas to collect all citrus & food banks & other agencies would also provide large drop off bins. Not this year. The streets are lined with bags of citrus.

All citrus has to be thrown away. It's a shame

Apparently a insect was found in my County & the threat of transferring the bug etc..

Yet, I'm allowed to mail citrus and my Post Office gives me a 10 % discount on fruit..:yh_rotfl

Figure the Government out.

If I were permitted to eat grapefruit (& I Love the ruby red!) I would ask you to mail me some. But, seems it doesn't mix with some of my medications.

Maybe next time!

I love grapefruit, but I'm not allowed it due to being on statins.

My ruby red grapefruit are the best - juicy - delish.

I'm delivering @ 200 to a friend tomorrow and I have 6 large bags out for garbage.

Interesting authorities don't want the bug transferred but yet you can mail the fruit?

Anne - sorry - some meds don't get along with grapefruit - hubby can't eat them either.

Neighbors have lemons & oranges out for garbage. 6 bag limit each garbage pick up.

it's a shame really - prices will probably rise on citrus.

That's a shame. I love Grapefruit. Any Grapefruit. Especially Ruby Reds.
