This is not so much a movie review but more to open a discussion on body image and body shaming that our kids not never before are dealing with.

Its targeted at kids between 10 and 15 ( and everybody else) to show them that body shape and appearance has nothing to do with sameness but diversity......beauty comes from being different from one another.

Unfortunetly its recieved a MA15+ rating which misses its targeted audience but probably a good thing so parents will sit with their kids to watch it.

The film asks a lot of questions about how we see ourselves as physically acceptable within our societies.

Sorry i cant load the trailer nor the kickstart campaigne.

If someone could do the honours for me id really appreciate it.

But a warning.... if youre female and watch it you will shed a tear.

And id like to ask a question of everyone....and be honest....

How much time in any given day have you seen a reflection of yourself naked dand made a critique of yourself?

My answer is ....i dont look in any mirror that reflects south of my breasts, (since the operation i just dont want to know.

The only thing I could find on the web is a site for a film titled "Embrace" and billed as "A feature length documentary that will unite women across the globe to love their bodies! - Created by Taryn Brumfitt".

There are some TASTEFUL photos of nude adult women but I didn't find any mention of anything related to juveniles. So I'm not sure if this is the film you've noted.

Yep, thats the one .

There arent any kids in it. Its directed at girls and women . But mainly girls.

Wouldnt harm fathers to take their boys to see it so they dont grow up stereotyping women

It also shows still shots of vulvas (hence the MA rating) i was an adult before i knew all vulvas are different and like a fingerprint.....much like penises i guess.

Also you suggest that fathers "take their boys to see it" as if it will be playing at the local cinema - it seems to me more like something that would be more suited for DVD.

But I will keep watching the movie listings in my city.

That was discussed..... the produces arent happy with its rating. Some people cant handle the truth i guess . Especially when it flies in the face of a lot of money.

But if you cant load the trailer thats cool too. :)

So Mark , do you ever citique your own body? Something about it youd like to change?

Youre lucky...... you dont want youre young body back?

Unfortunetly more and more boys are being driven into the body image problem.

Theres no info about Britsh release dates but Aus is August. USA is Sept 19.
