There's nothing better than................
cornflakes with hot milk, as a late night snack.

Of course, but I’d use Lee & Perrins rather than five spice.magentaflame wrote: Thu Oct 15, 2020 2:23 pmmelted cheese?FourPart wrote: Thu Oct 15, 2020 1:11 pm Cheese on Toast, with a light sprinkling of Chinese 5 Spice.
You should try it. I meant to use Mixed Spice, but used Chinese 5 Spice by mistake. Works well.Bryn Mawr wrote: Fri Oct 16, 2020 2:24 amOf course, but I’d use Lee & Perrins rather than five spice.magentaflame wrote: Thu Oct 15, 2020 2:23 pmmelted cheese?FourPart wrote: Thu Oct 15, 2020 1:11 pm Cheese on Toast, with a light sprinkling of Chinese 5 Spice.

I very often do those for lunch - only the ham is pariza ‘cos they don’t do proper ham and the cheese is feta and there loads of oregano scattered about, deliciousness on a plate.magentaflame wrote: Fri Oct 16, 2020 1:31 pm There's nothing better than....... a ham cheese and tomato toasty with a bowl of tomato or pumpkin soup on a winters night after work, when you can't be bothered cooking a whole meal.
Technically Welsh Rarebit is a slightly different thing as, when done properly, is uses a Cheese Sauce, made with Cornflour.magentaflame wrote: Fri Oct 16, 2020 1:23 pmWe call that welsh rarebitBryn Mawr wrote: Fri Oct 16, 2020 2:24 amOf course, but I’d use Lee & Perrins rather than five spice.magentaflame wrote: Thu Oct 15, 2020 2:23 pmmelted cheese?FourPart wrote: Thu Oct 15, 2020 1:11 pm Cheese on Toast, with a light sprinkling of Chinese 5 Spice.

My dad made the proper one with worcestishire sauce but I just do the cheese and what ever is at hand. sometimes I mix grated cheese with banana .FourPart wrote: Mon Oct 19, 2020 10:49 amTechnically Welsh Rarebit is a slightly different thing as, when done properly, is uses a Cheese Sauce, made with Cornflour.magentaflame wrote: Fri Oct 16, 2020 1:23 pmWe call that welsh rarebitBryn Mawr wrote: Fri Oct 16, 2020 2:24 amOf course, but I’d use Lee & Perrins rather than five spice.magentaflame wrote: Thu Oct 15, 2020 2:23 pmmelted cheese?FourPart wrote: Thu Oct 15, 2020 1:11 pm Cheese on Toast, with a light sprinkling of Chinese 5 Spice.
