When Arnold Schwarzenegger was elected govenor of California USA in 2003, there were gasps of disbelief on this side of the pond. Most Americans, by contrast, as most Americans are, just took the news in their stride.
The obvious explanation for this is the American dream. We over here, do not get it, and more to the point, we don't appreciate that Arnie is the epitome of it.He was after all, an immigrant who through tough determination, hard work and fistfuls of steroids became first the greatest bodybuilding champion in the world and then, without any obvious acting talent, the most commercially successful movie star in the world.
Them Americans love a good ''narrative'' and the possibilty of this single-minded extrovert ending up governor of the most powerful state in the Union proved irresistible to them.
What Next Arnie?

Well - he can't run for the Presidency as he wasn't born here but rising to be a State Governor isn't too bad!

What folks on the other side of the pond might be forgetting, is that our government was not particularly set up for career politicians (although we do have our share). Arnie is a natural born and intelligent leader that inspires confidence and despite his current problems is a vast improvemnet over the prior career politician Governor, Grey Davis. Americns love a good salesman that can sell himself effectively, and Arnie certainly does that.

I wish Arnold could get more involved in San Diegan's being held hostage by our PENSION BOARD. We need him to kick ass and take names. San Diego is in deep trouble financially, our city leaders are a bunch of crooks, and hiding behind "Attorney Client priviledges".
ARNIE I BEG YOU TERMINATE THE PENSION BOARD IN SAN DIEGO, AND HELP US OUT OF OUR MESS..

More power to him, I say! America is the best 'no-class' (wink) equal opportunity place in the world. It's 'never-land'! You dont have to grow up if you dont want to, and you'll always be what you make of yourself! I mean c'mon! Remember Jesse Ventura? :wah: He's just another in a long list......Ronald Regan, Clint Eastwood, (make my day) I'm just waiting for Bruce Willis next! Yippee Cayaaaa Mother F*****!!! :wah:
