Ladies and Gentlemen, Boys and Girls, Children of all ages. I have front page worthy news. Wolverine has made a giant leap in to becoming a fully functioning member of Society. Not only does he pay taxes, hold down a job, and acrew enormous amounts of stress... But He is now a HomeOwner!!!!
:yh_party
It is a wonderful 2 story Brick sitting on 3/4 acres in town. 4 bedrooms, 2 bath. Hardwood floors upstairs and down, detached garage. 5 trees. The house is almost 80 years old.
This is my first home. I closed on it Friday. WOO-HOO!!
now i have to go out and get furniture to fill it. I have come to the sobering realiztion that I do not have nearly enough stuff. Like things for the guest room, a lawn mower, snow shovel, rake, a washer and dryer of my own. Yikes. Lots of stuff. But I am going to thoroughly enjoy repainting the "Pepto-Bismal" pink kitchen.

and the "Institutional" green stairway. ee-Yuck. :yh_sick

How great is THAT!! Have fun. If I lived closer, I'd help you fix
it up!!
If budget is tight, consider second-hand stores for furniture. Or
even some of the Goodwill/Salvation Army types, or garage/estate
sales.
80 year old 2-story brick on 3/4 of an acre... man, some people
have all the luck!!

Congrat's Wolverine, do you need a hand in choosing colours for each room? I've just repainted each room in our home.

Actually Cap, I could. all the rooms are done in some sort of Pastel color.
the living room is blue-ish. Pink kitchen, BRIGHT yellow dining room, and an unfortunate irony: the bathroom is a Bailey's/Guinness brown, very chocolatey. :wah:

After that I painted our bedroom Calm Spirit, a pastel green.

HA! I was hoping you'd show up Floppy. True I guess I only need curtains for the Bedroom to keep out the light when I sleep. I usually vacuum nakid anyhow. (wow, now there's a mental image) My current roommate doesn't appreciate it tho. At least I don't do the dishes nude anymore.

It's called christening every room. :driving:
The first house is always great - turn the music up as loud as you want - walk around in your birthday suit - put up a big fence and walk around outside in your birthday suit. Have fun putting all the holes in the wall you need for your pictures!

Dogs are welcome. Oh, and I'll probably need a date so if someone could bring a single friend......... hahaha. kidding.

Congrats Wolverine! Nothing is like "owning" your first house/home. It's probably the biggest investment you'll ever make, so take the time to enjoy your new found freedom! Others have given you good ideas where/how to furnish YOUR HOUSE!
Even though there are so many things needed & or to be done, it just seems to all come together. Best wishes & Good luck!

Congrats wolverine. It's great owning your house. We bought ours in January. I have the perfect friend to bring as your date to your housewarming. Now I just have to figure out how to talk her into going to your party.

try this again.
this rock dad and i found out at the farm. Chiseling along and the Tractor just stopped.
started diggin around and unearthed this monster.
23 feet around, 13 feet across, almost 5 feet high.
guessing it weighs 13 ton. maybe more. the scale at the Co-Op coun't read the weight, too heavy. scale is good for 10 ton.

Here it is FOLKS!
my house. as you can see i have a crap load of yard.
in one pic you can see the front of my car. that's the property line, it goes from where i am standing to the street.
another one you can see a little garage in the back, yard goes all the way to the chain-link fence of the neighbors behind the garage.
and there is even a pic of me holding the camera out in front.
Don't worry there will be more.
Thanks Floppy!
ok so i did not load. must a broke the PC.
