Well today I came in to school to find that taggers had left me a nice present. The school was covered with nasty, foul grafitti and they even painted obscenities on the very nice eagle sign that a student painted for us.
The kids asked me if I was upset about it and to tell the truth I wasn't.
I got out a 5 gallon bucket of paint that I had in the storeroom just for this kind of occasion, grabbed a paintbrush and within 15 minutes, I had covered the graffitti. Then I designed a new eagle sign and laminated it so that if it ever gets hurt again, I can just print out a new one.
I told the kids, "I knew that this sign would be tagged when I put it out there, but you should never stop doing right, and having fun because of fear, or because you are afraid of evil people. Bad people want to ruin life, because their lives are in ruins, but we never let the evil people win."
What do you think about graffitti and evil people?
