I missed my 10th, 15th & 20th, but made the 50th in 2002. I was surprised at the number that were alive considering we graduated during the Korean War, and then Viet Nam came along. We had a big class of 300 and 205 or so made the re-union. Interesting how some of the Pom Pom types went to pot and the homelies blossomed. The nice thing about a 50 year reunion is that no one is trying to outdo the other and show how successful they are, they are just damn happy to still be alive and healthy.

I really enjoy class reunions. The difference in liking and not liking is that I came from a very small town, class had 48 graduates. We have lost 14 of those and not one to war. We are of the age now were your finiancial backgown doesn't seem to matter. Fortunalty because of my genes I have shown only minor change of face and have been voted least change the last two times. Our class was always like one big family so we all really look forward to the reunions. Now if I came from a class of 3000 like some of you I would say get lost. Have no interest at all.

I had my 30th 3 years ago. I won't go to another one. There were 12 people in my graduating class and 7 made it to reunion. I guess that is pretty good odds. I had sex with all the boys (all 4 of them) by the time I graduated - YES - I was a wild child. The funny thing was they still wanted to have sex with me and I wasn't the least bit interested in any of them. I think I kept my humor and they lost theirs years ago - it was very sad. I felt like I was the only one who was still in my early 20's in my heart and soul. I grew up very rural and got the heck out of Dodge after high school. I had nothing in common with people who had lived the life they didn't envision for themselves in high school.

My 35th is on the 30th of this month. I went to my 5, 10, 15, 20 and
"30th" which we were a year late so it was actually the 31st. I didn't
go to the 25th because they had it at the same hotel the 20th was at
and I had such a bad experience I swore to never return! (To THAT hotel!)
The 31st was held about a month after 9/11 and was very nice, I think
we all were enjoying going back to people who knew us before the
world turned so bad... one of our classmates is an airline pilot and spent
some time telling us what it was like for him, and whether he would carry
a gun in the cockpit or not. His wife is also a classmate, high school
sweethearts still together, and she talked about what it was like to
worry about her husband! I don't mean to say the thing was a downer,
it was actually very upbeat, just nice to connect with those people
from a "simpler" time.
I enjoy them, but I don't know if I would go if I had slept with anyone
from my class!!

I'm from a small town, so you'd think we would have a lot more...but everyone left town after graduation!!
I went to my 10 year and my 20 year so far. At the 10 year, everyone was really busy impressing each other about how great their lives were! (Including me, I wore my air Force pilot's flight suit!) The popular people werer still popular and the nerds were still nerdy. Everything was pretty segregated and very boring. Like a church social or something.
But the 20-year was completely different. First of all, no one was concerning with impressing ANYBODY! Secondly, I was moonlighting as a DJ at the time, so I rolled all kinds of 70's rock and dance songs, we actually had a big ballroom reserved with a massive bar that had been financed ahead of time so that everyone could drink for free.
And to top it off, my best friend and I put together a multi-media presentation of slides and movie clips from the 70's with never before seen pics of everybody! OH! That long hair and bell bottoms! We all looked like Anastrophe as a teen!:D
As I recall, the party didn't end until after 3...what a blast!
On one funny thing....the nerds were all aerospace scientists and extremely rich and the popular people had become fat and poor.

I went to my 10 year reunion. Most everyone there was trying to impress each other about how great & sucessful their lives were! It was kinfd of werid, as the popular people were still popular and the nerds were still nerdy. Everything was just as "clicky" as it used to be 10 years before. It was still the "us" Vs "them" mentality. The nerds (still nerdy looking) were all some sort of Business owners & rich, while the popular crowd, many Men balding & already fat, the once pretty Girls were already showing signs of Father time, some already fat.
One of the prettiest girls of the graduating class was not there, it was sad. I then found out that she had choked on a piece of her favorite chocolate candy. When the Paramedics got there, she was already dead. And now the sad part, the paramedics upon working on her said that the chocolate piece that choked her had "MELTED" from her remaining Body Heat and her Air passage way was clear!!!
Anyway, I moved out of state, and then did not receive any more reunion notices.

Bumping this up so I can report on my 35th last Saturday night. It was
a lot of fun.
I already mentioned it in the pub, but I was shocked to order a mixed
drink when I got there (the bar had NO bubbly can you imagine?) and
it was $5.75 which I thought was pretty pricey.
Won 2 bottles of wine, which the powers that be made sure to inform
us could NOT be consumed on the hotel premises... yeah, right, they
were trying to get all those $5.75's out of us!!
Got to see an old boyfriend I hadn't seen since our 15th, he still is
a hottie. (Down gang, his wife, also a classmate and friend, was there,
too!) Almost the first thing he said to me was "How are your folks?" now
wasn't that sweet? It was fun huggin' him.
Took a bunch of nostalgic stuff for the gang to see, and a whole lot
of pics I spread out on a table that were from our 15th.
Left about 10:30 (four hours after that cocktail, LC!!) and boy, that
Sacramento valley weather, it was probably around 80-85 degrees
and WONDERFUL. Something about being that warm at night in the
summer that just thrills me.
Got "lei'd", too!!
:D
