Christmas ahahahaha

made ya look.

For those of you who shop way ahead of time, do you have your christmas shopping list completed?

Are you an early bird christmas shopper who spends the entire year buying gifts or are you a last minute shopper?

Yes, Yes, & Yes!

Actually when shopping for ourselves, my wife & I always are on the lookout for bargains on that special something for our loved ones, for all occasions, including Christmas. :)

We have been doing this for about 7 or 8 years, and so far only once did we buy something that our friend could no longer use. :wah: It was a fine bottle of Dewar's White Label. :) But we did not know that he just gave up the hooch, because he was having problems. :o So it didn't go to waist we kept it, & then later on got him a new tennis racket, as he's a good tennis player. Where there's will, there's a way! ;)

Hiya Minks :-6

Like cars I like to shop ahead. I normally start about April and just buy things I think people will like.

I used to leave it til the last minute and rush out and buy overpriced rubbish because I couldn't think what to buy people. And because prices seem to go up just before Chritmas!!

But I find when I buy throughout the year, the cost is spread, and you often find beautiful things in sumer sales which can be packed away til Christmas. Last year my daughter was hugely into Felicity Wishes and saw these beautifully decorated (but expensive) set of Felicity Wishes notebooks in a local shop. I went back to the shop without her to see if they were worth the cost and I found they were all reduced to half price! So, of course, I snapped them up! Next time she returned to the shop she was upset to find them all gone! So imagine her face 6 months later when she found them in her stocking on Christmas morning!

You may laugh and think it anal to buy early, but it means no last minute rushing round the shops feeling hassled and trying to buy that 'must have' present that sold out 3 weeks ago! Instead you can wander round looking for last minute stocking fillers or bits and bobs and not give your credit card heart failure!!

Instead you can just enjoy the season, sing along to the piped Christmas carols and feel extremely smug that you have no need to rush around like all the other bozo's! hehehe :wah: :p

I admire each and every one of you who has the dicipline to go and do this "fun" job ahead of time. I personally would way over buy, as I would find a million things over a span of a year to buy. and secondly I would loose where I hid all the goodies ahead of time and end up going any buying more, and likely something different cause I would have forgot what the original was and for whom it was intended. Sigh ! Oh to be so organized.

Christmas???! Good god, woman, you are an evil, EVIL person bringing up the "C" word right now!!

It's currently 92 degrees here, I live in an upper flat with no A/C, I'm sweating buckets and eyeballing my freezer as a good place to park my ass for the next day or 3.

CHRISTMAS??!?!! Evil....

I think of Christmas after Thanksgiving, you have to be in the mood to go shopping and think of decorations. When the temperatures are 100, I think of summer!:-6

I agree, but unfortunately, the Stores are they ones who "jump" the Holiday seasons. :wah: Just Today, we were at a store called "TJ Maxx", and there they already had up Halloween decorations on display for sale! Also were winter coats, & long sleeve sweaters & shirts, go figure. If you try to wait around for the time of the actual Holiday or season, everything (all the best stuff) for that Hoilday is already sold out. And there they are again, already displaying Holiday items 2 or 3 seasons ahead of their time. It's a cruel cycle!

-Yes, other early shoppers!

I am 1/2 way done, hope to be done by Halloween. My sons birthday is December 28th, so it is two completely different holidays, and my future stepsons is New Years Eve.

-Every year my son and I go and watch the mall rats scurry to grab anything and everything because they waited until the LAST possible minute.

My wife loves those catalogs like, "Pottery Barn". so I surepticiously order the stuff she fawns over during the course of the year. I hide it in a high shelf that she can't get to and Then....

surprise! At Christmas time, I've already gotten everything she wants, and they are all the kind of presents you can't get in stores. No holiday shopping, no hassle of the corwds, I just decorate the tree and wrap them up!:D
