:-3 Huh!! Tennessee Yikes !! Been there have no desire to go back. ;) Actually the blue grass country is beautiful.

Take LC with you she can show you the sites. Or at least interpet what they say to you.

I think with your British accent, and their southern drawl it will be interesting to see the communication in action..:D

OK here is the Bothwell pier story...he and i were staying at a beach hotel but i had to go to work for 12 hours....figured he could sleep away his jet lag. but NOOOOOOO he decides to go to the pier and visit with the local old fishermen who are always out there, as well as enjoy the ambiance....so he tells the desk clerk to order him up a taxi. of course the poor desk clerk cannot comprehend one word Bothwell says. so here comes the cab, Both gets in and says "pier please". the cabbie nonchalantly points to the pier which is 30 yards across the street! ( i give the guy credit for not driving Both 37 miles.) so, with great British pride, aplomb and dignity, Both says "yes, but i want a ride anyway"!! he was not about to admit he didn't see the pier! LOL LOL ...he has never lived it down! hahahahahahaha:wah: :wah: :o :wah:

easy for you to say Far....he's gonna kill me. :wah: ....i have 93 stories about Both in the US. here's another...we are sitting on a park bench in a tourist area. like most Europeans he rolls his own cigs. so there he is rolling one up, appearing like he is rolling up a big fat joint. and here comes local city police on foot patrol...i am county, we don't necessarily all know each other. they stand there looking at him incredulously...i had to whip out my badge and save him from the county jail . i really should never let him out of the car. LOL

I would like to express my thanks to all who are concerned for my sahety in the south. A certain deputy is taling advantage of my good nature to spread scurrilous (sic) rrumours about me. Actually the cab story is true and was a tad embarassing.

Thank you for the tips about Oak Ridge, I shall obviously be eschewing my normal mode of dress (harris tweed suit, bowler hat, sensible brogues and a rolled up brolly) in favour of more relaxed attire, perhaps my white linen suit and a panama hat what do you think?

As to the Florida wildlife I hold it in contempt, I come from theland of the mighty adder (max length 18 inches) that can Kill with 26 bites if you are over 95 and with a heart condition, in addition as I am sure LC will confirm an 8ft crocodile knocking on your door may be preferrable to some of the humans that inhabit the locality showing up.
