Peace pudding and faggots. == I thought faggots were cigarettes or sticks over there. Never mention pud & fag over here, if you ever visit.
Toad in the hole == a fine recreation for those that have the inclination, I understand
Jellied Eels == I do enjoy roasted eel, but jellied??
Black Pudding == chocolate? licorice?
Bubble & Squeak ==
Haggis, neeps and tatties == Bought their CD I think. Good harmony, but not my style of music
Marmite == So I'm sure; but who's gonna ask her?
Spotted Dick == Take a pill
Pie, mash and Liquor == all mixed together, or one to wash down the others?
~~~~~~~~~~~~
Now Mississippi Mud Pie? MMMMMmmmmmmm!! :yh_drool
It's basically congealed blood pigs blood and fat cut into slices. A big scab you might say. Even being a brit I can't bring myself to try the stuff though :yh_sick
Okay. This isn't English. My Indonesian friends share it with me on occasion. It puts me off but to them it is such a delicacy that I feel honored that they treat me to it.
Has anyone tried Durian?
ArnoldLayne wrote: Is that the fruit that tastes better than it smells ?That's putting it mildly. Most airlines to the orient do not allow passengers to carry it on the plane.
The fruit is a giant, spiny elongate thing that hangs from trees. Don't ever sleep under one of those trees!
The fruit inside is yellow and something the texture between an unripe banana and custard. The flavor is sweet and custard like, and yet has a slight garlicy aftertaste. The smell, which fills the room the moment you open it is something like a cross between rotten onions and an open sewer!
