You know I love playing with little people. i just wish I could get my children to play with them. But all they want to do is play with there houses. I don't know what to do. I try to sit with them and play. But they are not interested in little people. They want play with the cars and trucks to with the set.

Of corse I have almost every little people from fisher price. There's just so many. Does anyone know how I can get my children interested in playing with people, and not there houses and so on.:-5

im definitely learning that if a kid isnt interested in something then your pretty much losing a fighting battle in trying to get them interested, is always worth trying though because they may be missing out on something they really enjoy because they dont have the ability yet to 'branch out' and try new things...

It's the old adage is'nt it, you give a child a wonderful present,

and all they want to play with is the box!

Fruit? Coal? Sticks?!? Far, that was a coal-driven toy steam train hand-carved from cherry!

You tossed it in the fire, didn't you?

Don't have your whole collection of little people out at one time. Just have a few out for them to play with at a time. And just sit back and watch.:)

We were SOOOOOOO Poor, for Christmas mama always wanted to get us a toy and clothes. She could only afford one or the other. So she would buy us overalls and cut a hole in the front pocketts so we would have something to play with too.................. HO HO HO

flopstock wrote: The ultimate childrens play items are pot's and pans ,the lids, wooden utencils and tupperware containers. forget all the fancy stuff. These keep them going longer then you want it too...lol. and when they do get bored they can toddle off to the bathroom to draw on the walls with chalk.

But, kids need to be allowed to play with things for the simple enjoyment of playing with them. Playtime does not have to be learning time, all the time. It is just as important that they learn to enjoy things around them.:D

hahaha my little girl constantly has my pots and pans out! and they just love playing house with the clothes airer and a sheet!!

In the hot weather I couldn't afford a paddling pool, so I sat them in the yard with buckets of water, cups, jugs, whatever plastic containers I could find! I hung a sheet over the washing line to shade them and they thought it was brilliant!!:-6

When I was a little kid I loved to put the laundry on the line. That way, I could make a tunnel tha zigzagged up & down. Now they do that at Disney and bank ques and it's a pain.

My favorite toys were gourds my mom grew. I'd pick one or two & hollow them out. Then I'd carve doors & windows & make little towns to play in. Who needs store-bought toys?

Gosh AC, my brothers made their own skateboards from scratch, and we played with anything laying around the place. Who needs fancy toys, when you have imagination!

Toys steal the imagination! I still look at any item and imagine a list of other uses, a skill built from years of stick-swords and cardboard box cars.

Boycot Toys R Us!!

Want a weeble? Push your little brother down. He'll get back up!

:D Well being the oldest one I can honestly say we did build our own toys, forts, scooters, and we had more fun that I remember vividly to this day. There weren't any WEEBLES, OR FISHER PRICE TOYS.. you had your sister and brother and all the neighborhood kids to work on the some took weeks, some minutes but when they were done we ran them through there paces and laughed when they fell apart..;)

Allow our kids to play with blocks, and build.. it is somethings that comes natural to us all.

And legos, every little one can make something out of them................

DON"T TALK ABOUT LEGOS

I live in the lego capital. I use to live behind lego's. But n ow I live down about 3 miles or so down the street. I know alot of people who worked their. My Husband tried to get a job at legos headquaters. We have gone to church with the high people. Thats all I got for my darn baby shower for Jacob. Doug wanted me to put Amber into lego day care. Yes their is a building and toys made out or shaped like legos that people actually work in and play with. LOL I have Mega blocks(which is not made by legos) I have 170 peak and see blocks. Which are the fisher price ones you can see through.

I just a toy at walmart were a child can sit and the side table has stuff for them to play with. That might be good for amber since she will have trouble sitting on the floor once she gets her brace. and I saw a play dough table I want to get for them. TOYS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! And now Christmas is upon us.:-6
