In Haworth, Yorkshire, home of the Bronte sisters, there is a shop for occult paraphernalia.
The street sign where it is says "Purves Corner".
It doesn't look like a regular street sign.
Perhaps some wit has put it up.
Appropriate?

I don't know if you're a local to the area or a visitor, but it would probably help you, if you could look up the local history of the area. The local library should have some info on local place names - that's why it would be easier if you were a local! Lol!
"Perv's" would normally be spelt as Perv's not Purves, so you might find it is the name of someone who lived locally at one point and did something for the local community. You might also find it is pronounced Pur-vess, rather that Purves. There was a childrens TV presenter called Peter Purves, pronounced Peter Pur-vess (although we all called him Peter Pervie! Poor Chap! Lol!)
Also, the word "perv" is used more in relation to child molesters than for anyone dabbling in the occult!
Hope this helps!
