A sign of the times has just resurrected itself, I just found my old "locking" gas cap for my Car that I had to use back in 74/75. That's when the price of gas skyrocketed. (Due to "Oil people man-made" shortage)
Back then I just filled my gas tank & parked in a public parking lot, when I got back to the car the tank was less than 1/4 full. I did not have a locking gas cap before then. So someone helped themselves to my gas. I guess it could have been worse, they took 3/4's of my tank, they could have taken it all!
So I'm sure as gas prices skyrocket again, stealing gas will become more common!

I hear one of the reasons they're having a hard time getting food in is because people are shooting at the aid workers! No wonder they have to move the national guard before they can move supplies...can you imagine if they just dropped some food in there? People would go nuts. It's so terrifying. And all we have to worry about up here is gas. I feel so petty grumbling at the pump. I honestly didn't even think about someone trying to steal my gas! I wonder if the sale of siphon hoses or just regular lengths of tubing goes up.

Yes the prices of siphons of all kinds went up dramatically back in 74, wish I had stock in those companies!!!:wah:
("People" are crazy, shooting at the rescuer's trying to help them, do they really want help? Nasty way to show it. :-5 )

Locking gas caps are sold out everywhere, one vehicle needs it and I have to wait for a shipment on Monday, if I'm lucky. Waiting for the red and green flags next.

Locking gas caps are big sale items here too BUT if anyone wants your gas that cap will not stop them. What's been happening here is....gas hoses are being cut underneath the vehicles and drained that way!

I only worry when I take the truck to school, my neighbor likes to go "shopping" in our parking lot. Poor teacher last year had the catalytic converter sawed right off his car during class!

Mine's the same way. And I'm extremely fortunate to spend my time in communities where people are more eager to help than to hinder.
