I’m not ashamed of the things that I dream

I find myself flirting with the verge of obscene

Into the unknown, I will be bold

I’m going to places I can be out of control

And I don’t want to explain tonight

All the things I’ve tried to hide

I shut myself out from the world so I

Can draw the blinds and I’ll teach myself to fly

I love myself

It’s not a sin

I can’t control what’s happenin’

Cause I just discovered

Imagination’s taking over

Another day without a lover

The more I come to understand

The touch of my hand

From the small of my back and the arch of my feet

Lately I’ve been noticin’ the beautiful me

I’m all in my skin and I’m not gonna wait

I’m into myself in the most precious way

And I don’t want to explain tonight

All the things I’ve tried to hide

I shut myself out from the world so I

Can draw the blinds and I’ll teach myself to fly

Cause I just discovered

Imagination’s taking over

Another day without a lover

The more I come to understand

The touch of my hand

There’s a world undefined

And my body is mine

I won’t be left behind

I’m already here

Cause I just discovered

Imagination’s taking over

Another day without a lover

The more I come to understand

The touch of my hand

Cause I just discovered

Imagination’s taking over

Another day without a lover

The more I come to understand

The touch of my hand

My favorite little lyrical chunk is a song written by The Boyfriend, Mr. Bryan Garvin:

On bread, lasagna--in my head

It sounded good!

I was wrong...

It was about him trying to make a lasagna sandwich. Apparently it was bad enough to write a song about.

This is what happens when people try to work creatively and have the munchies at the same time. Don't let it happen to you!

Played at my wedding and almost sang by my husband. He decided he couldn't do it without choking up :)

When I Said I Do (Clint Black)

These times are troubled and these times are good

And they're always gonna be, they rise and they fall

We take 'em all the way that we should

Together you and me forsaking them all

Deep in the night and by the light of day

It always looks the same, true love always does

And here by your side, or a million miles away

Nothin's ever gonna change the way that I feel,

The way it is, is the way that it was

When I said I do, I meant that I will 'til the end of all time

Be faithful and true, devoted to you

That's what I had in mind when I said I do

Well this old world keeps changin', and the world stays the same

For all who came before, and it goes hand and hand

Only you and I can undo all that we became

That makes us so much more, than a woman and a man

And after everything that comes and goes around

Has only passed us by, here alone in our dreams

I know there's a lonely heart in every lost and found

But forever you and I will be the ones

Who found out what forever means

When I said I do, I meant that I will 'til the end of all time

Be faithful and true, devoted to you

That's what I had in mind when I said I do

Truer than true, you know that I'll always be there for you

That's what I had in mind, that's what I had in mind,

When I said I do

another one....

from the thomas crown affair, not so much about the lyrics but its just a really emotive musical score... the instruments and voice of the singers is heavenly..... its simply beautiful, if you havent heard it it really is a must.... get the film and youll get a taster of it (the one with ppierce brosnan and rene russo)

Wasis Diop---Everything (...Is Never Quite Enough) lyrics

Moments take so very long: who has time to fear?

Trust to set no precedent; why should it be accompli?

Giving you a little less is taking what I need.

Everything is never quite enough.

Let machinery fake my face: who has time to chase?

Digital is where it is; love can always be replaced.

Welcome to my consciousness - welcome to our race.

Everything is never quite enough.

Can't see my face: what are you thinking?

Fill in the space, please - oh let me hear you¡

Sterilize behind these gates, locked behind the green.

Even if I had you here - what we had was never clear

No more words to say to you; no more thoughts appear

Love was taking way too long: who had breath to waste?

Tired of disappointing you; bored with everything I do.

Every day there's less of you. Me, I've been erased.

When I was blue rock and roll really helped me through.

Kind of sad I can't remember the rest of the lyrics when I just heard the song live when Foghat played Denva the day before yesterday.

Not a wimp rocker in the set!!!

Stone Blue was the 3rd song. They oppened with Nightshift, second was Driving can't spell the second word of the song. The sound went a little off towards the beginning of Stone Blue but the band recovered as the technical problem was fixed.

Current members have played with Ted Nugent, Humble Pie, and Motley Hatchet.

They only played one new song in the afternoon set. Didn't get to stick around for the secnod set.

Favourite song ever is Child Psychology by Black Box Recorder, in addition to a small amount of personal resonance I just think that the lyrics are the most haunting you'll ever hear:

"I stopped talking when I was six years old

I didn't want anything more to do with the outside world

I was happy being quiet

But of course they wouldn't leave me alone

My parents tried every trick in the book

From speech therapists to child psychologists

They even tried bribery

I could have anything, as long as I said it out loud

Life is unfair, kill yourself or get over it

Life is unfair, kill yourself or get over it

Of course this episode didn't last forever

I'd made my point and it was time to move on

To peel away the next layer of deceit

And see what new surprises lay in store

My school report said I showed no interest

'A disruptive influence' I felt sorry for them in a way

And when they finally expelled me

It didn't mean a thing

Life is unfair, kill yourself or get over it

Life is unfair, kill yourself or get over it

("At that time she stopped what she was doing, she stopped playing... she stared, she had the facial grimicing... and then the psychiatrist was saying, "Julie, Julie, can you hear me? Can you open your eyes? Can you stick out your tongue?" And all of a sudden, Julie struck out")

The November when I came home the Christmas decorations were already up

Spray on snow, coloured flashing lights

And an artificial tree that played Silent Night

Over and over again

My parents welcomed me with loving arms

But within an hour were back at each others throats

Normal, happy childhood back on course

Batteries not included"
