Yesterday when I left for my morning walk I noticed a
neighbor's tree had been "TP'd" and she has a teenage
daughter so I just smiled to myself.
Yesterday afternoon when I was out watering I noticed the
limbs of this tree shaking and I figured it was the neighbor
trying to get the TP out... WRONG this neighbor was
CUTTING DOWN THE TREE. I was in shock. It wasn't even that
big of a tree, certainly reachable with a large step ladder.
I can understand the frustration with having to face
getting a lot of damp TP out of your tree but to just give
up and cut the thing down?

Oh, sorry!! Toilet paper... it's a kid thing I guess. Take toilet paper and
throw it over the tops of trees, a real mess!
Malicious mischief, as it were!!

It’s a matter of dignity. Your neighbor knows that TP’d trees lose their desire to live. It is so humiliating that they just want to die. I think your neighbor is a mercy killer.

-Hey, are these people 112 years old or something, and cant climb a ladder?
-how many trees do these people have? (none)
-does that work with dirty dishes?
-I love trees, tell them I am really ticked off. Explain to them how long it takes to grow a tree, and they put oxygen in the air.
SERIOUSLY.......
P.S. tell them next time they go and the tree stays!

It was always the most popular kids that got their tree's TP'd when I was in HS. The cheerleaders most of all.:wah: :wah:

Yeah, how about assessing WHY the tree got papered? Is this the "Ebeneezer Scrooge" of the neighborhood?
Personally, being a teacher, I NEVER give out my real street address, my name in the phone book is abbreviated, with no address, and I park both cars inside a garage so that no one can tell by my truck which house I live in.
I've gotten egged at Halloween before, along with everyone in my neighborhood, but it's no big deal. I just wash it off on the morning.
As for trees...I love 'em. I have
3 forty foot long needled pines.
3 short pinion pines (They'll outlast the house!)
1 gigantic (50 foot) Sycamore
1 peach-cot
1 pear
1 apple
2 plums
3 decorative evergreen trees
2 maple trees
1 massive Russian Olive
and about 30 assorted Elms (that I continually try to eradicate!):wah:

Egged housed must be burned down. No choice in the matter.
We have five fir trees that are over 100' tall, an old maple that has to be well over 100 years old, a large cherry tree, a small fir tree and a couple of smaller maples. They create a quite a mess but we love them.

Maybe the owner suddenly realized the tree might be strong enough to hold a teenage boy climbing to the daughter's window.

Yes it is.... with all the TP's and kids at one house devouring the fridge and ever loving high school pranks. Now tell me - would you remember HS without them???

TP is mild compared to some of the stunts I pulled. The TP does remind me of those days though.
