Please share your view-

-Insurance companies(talking about hospital/doctor/prescription)

First of all if you work, why isnt it free from your employer!!!!

-I pay for mine and my sons, along with dental and vision.

Yes I am grateful but I'm thinking I could use that extra $3000 a year!

-my co-pays $7.50 generic, $20.50 brand, and $60 non-formulary.

-oh and lets mention this, $250 deductable each person, then 90% of medical bills paid, no preventative tests covered!

-uh, no I think I'll just skip my mam, and pap this year, and the usual blood test.

-I went in and had a general chem screen ran(blood test) you know rh factor, cholesterol etc.

-oh baby, was I ticked. First of all our employer presented that your $250 deductable could be paid by your co-pays, NOT, it's the after cost you pay.

-We work for CVS pharmacy, and you can only go to Cvs,otherwise there is no coverage.

Hey Jas...

well... I feel your pain. I could surely use the 1200+ I pay for my insurance annually. And to top things off mine has increased by 10% + each year for the past 3 years, copays have increased, scripts have been tiered.. etc etc etc...

Of course my employer says that this is just a national trend and that we should be thankful that they are paying the majority of the expenses... right...

Think the big guy needs a new condo or something..

really sux to pay for something that you might never need....

Thats terrible having to pay so much. We have a few different options available with health care, I'm not really familiar with them though, but if you can't afford insurance we have medicare that covers most things, eg for me a sole parent, all my scripts cost about $2.00 US, free Dr ambulance, mammogram paps etc.

If it is a serious problem such as cancer your in hospital having treatment and test straight away. If it's not so serious you might have a long long wait for treatment if you don't have private cover.

Hi Jas, apparently you are too young to know that there was a time when the "Employer's" did provide full medical coverage, and "without co-pays", for their employees as one of the benifits to entise employees to work for them. Unfortunately, over the years as the medical industry costs excellerated off the scales, the employer's still needed to try to keep "their product's costs", competitive with their "overseas" competition. So some companies started a plan to make the employees contribute a portion to defray the insurance costs. It started as a small amount, so initially it was not so bad. (soon this concept spread like wildfire to all the other companies) But over the years, as the medical industry costs continued to skyrocket, so did the employee's portion of the insurance contribution rise accordingly, and eventually even to the point where the companies instituted "co-pay's" for the employees. (And here we are today) It's a"nasty" cycle, but some even have it worse! Consider Senior Citizens (on fixed incomes) on Medicare (the one's who use Meds the most at that stage of life) "do-not" have a Drug Prescription plan at all. Also, "no" Dental plan either, go figure.

It's not fair, and it never will be, but sadly that's just the way it is! :wah:
