Fresh from a visit to hurricane-ravaged Louisiana, anti-Bush activist Cindy Sheehan is demanding the U.S. military be removed from "occupied New Orleans."

In a dispatch on leftist filmmaker Michael Moore's website, Sheehan said she was troubled by the "level of the military presence" in the Gulf Coast state.

"George Bush needs to stop talking, admit the mistakes of his all around failed administration, pull our troops out of occupied New Orleans and Iraq, and excuse his self from power," she said. "The only way America will become more secure is if we have a new administration that cares about Americans even if they don't fall into the top two percent of the wealthiest.

Well, let's think about this: You've got a city totally out of control, looting, robbing, killing, shooting at rescuers, and one of the police cheifs wife and daughter raped and murdered in their home. The police are quite obviously overwhelmed and over their heads. Where else can they turn? "Occupied" New Orleans is an emotionally charged ridiculous statement made by a woman who is living in a state of denial. And did she actually say "remove 'his self' from power"?? She loses credibility with me by the second. Not that she had much to begin with.

"Demand" away, Cindy...it's a waste of breath.

It is really disturbing to me that she has as much support as she does. Are there really that many empty heads out there?

There really are, Clint. I see evidence of human stupidity every single day. This is just one more pathetic example.

These drones could combine their ignorance and decide to give our sovereignty over to Cuba or something. I think they are that far out of the realm of reality and motivated by blind anger over not being in power.

If we ever have a situation where there isn’t enough to go around and the government can’t rise to the occasion, we will see anarchy and violence that will make N.O. look like a kindergarten fist fight.

Would have been more constructive i think, if she had taken her bus caravan down there and driven some evacuees out when they were drowning and starving, but what do I know?

In total agreement.....if all the energy that goes into anger and hatred was put into GOOD and COMPASSION our world would be a near perfect place.

Nicely put Bez. People really shoudln't go using any old grudges that they have against someone to cloud their judgement on today's issues. Especially if that issue revolves around the helping of others that are in desperate need of help and support.

Put her to work bailing the water out of New Orleans, just give her a bucket and when she's finished maybe she'll have something sensible to say.

Agreed, if she actually gets a real life view of what is going on at ground level, actually witnesses the tragedy that was caused and meets the families that have been devastated, then she may just change her point of view. Well at least u hope she would!!

Give her a pair of gloves and a wheel barrow if she really wants to do good.

Wheel barrow! Gloves! Those are both implements of war... not only that people have used them both in forced labor. The companies that make them pay taxes and that money gets used for war.

I think she is much better suited to be a street preacher for her cause in Baghdad. Since military action is so deplorable, I think she should go talk the peace loving "insurgents" into putting down thier weapons and treating thier women with more dignity. I'm sure that just like President Bush did, the leaders there will invite her to visit with them.

Oh for goodness sakes. What an ass. Are we sure all the things being attributed to her really should be? If so, she's really over the deeeep end and I hope someone who loves her grabs her, throws her in the back of the van, de-programs her and gets her some help. It's sad at this point...it really is.
