If your talking about the Washington Redskins,That statement has to be an attempt at some sort of joke.
The redskins are one of the premier teams In the league holding there opponents to under 66 yards rushing per game and only 193 yards passing. They have arguably the best running back to ever put a washington jersey on In Clinton Portis, who ran for 121 yards against the Chicago Bears(the best defence In the game)In week one(the only week they havnt scored a TD),that In which I am suprised they even put the ball past the 50 yard line. They will continue to have QB problems, but I dont think that will be much of a problem as long as Clinton Portis dresses,as the running game opens up the passing game, and vice-versa.
I think you might have your hopes set a little too high for your Skins,as I am quite sure that they will be playing In January. They have turned that program around.
My prediction,
Redskins go 9-7 this year.
(A winning season in the NFL Is a good season In my opinion)

My Ravens on the other hand should have had been a good team this year, but are looking equally as pathetic as the poor skins.
The Washington Redskins Defence Is probably the second best Defence In the league. They held their opponents to under 268 total yards/game,Ranked 3rd In the NFL In 2004(under 82 yards rushing/game,Ranked 2nd, and 187 yards passing /game,Ranked 7th,holding all opponents to under 265 total points,Ranked 5th.I look for Brunell to have a complete year,as he and Santana Moss will deffinetly Improve from last year.
Washington Is going to be the most Improved team of the year,In my opinion.Their Division In the East Is the toughest In the NFC,Which may only be the reason Washington Is held back this year.
(I could be wrong,But we'll just have to waite and see)

The Redskins were the first American Football team I saw when they started coverage over here and I have followed them ever since. trouble is when I started watching them it was the era of Theismann, Monk, Jacobi, Grimm and not to forget the mighty Diesel, No 44 John Riggins. It's been a bit downhill since then, when I was in Washington recently I watched a Nationals game from RFK and saw all those immortal names written on the wall.

Oh, BTW,
FYI-The Baltimore Ravens went 5 weeks In a row without scoring a touchdown In 2000,and went on to win the Super Bowl(because of their defence).

"You guys kill me"
Just because a team had a bad record the year before, means In no way that they will have a bad year again the next year.Look at all of the teams that have had bad record's the year before going to the Super Bowl that next year, and In some cases winning. The whole Idea of the offseason, Is to improve their mistakes from yesteryear.Football In the NFL Is highly competetive, In that any team can win at anytime.Otherwise you would see teams going undefeated more often than once a century. There has only been 1 Football team In the history of the NFL to go undefeated which was the 72' Miami Dolphins.
One example of many were the Cincinnati Bengals twice having losing records prior to going to the Super Bowl who went 6-10 In 1980, only to go 12-4 In 1981 making the trip to Super Bowl XVI as well as going 4-11 In 1987 while going 12-4 In 1988, traveling to Super Bowl XXIII.

Yeah,
And I currently lead everyone In points by a margin of more than 70 points.I could miss a week by scoring 0 points and still be tied with the second place team currently In my league.
Half of my team consists of the Cincinnati Bengals. So far they are doing extremely well, and right now I would put them up against any team In the NFL.I know people wont give them a chance, but I have complete confidence In my favorite team.

Well ANewLife,
Its now week 7, and the Redskins are 3-2. They lost both of their games to powerhouse teams in Denver and Kansas City.
Redskins' Santana Moss is 2nd in the league in receiving yards with 631. Only 7 yards shy of league leader Tory Holt. Mark Brunell Is filling in nicly as I said he would, and has an above average QB rating of 95.1, and 1,240 yards passing on the year.
The Redskins offense is ranked 6th in the league and their defense is unsuprisingly ranked 5th.
they beat a very solid Dallas team on play making, and beat the 4-2 NFC west division leaders Seattle Seahawks as well.
The Redskins have a tough record so I cannot say how well they will do, but one thing is for sure, they will deffinetly finish .500 this year and I look for them to be playoff contenders next year, If not this season.

I wouldn't be too optimistic valley-V, they have one of the toughest schedules this year because of the division they are in(NFC East)
If they go 9-7 this year, I would consider that a big step.
