Plazul,

It's horrible. I think something should be done. But, are we going to have to bear the rants from the rest of the world claiming U.S. Imperialism?

I'm confused about why we are being villified for not reacting sooner. When we act alone, we get spat upon. When we wait for the U.N. we are spat upon. When the U.N. goes slow, it's our fault.

Confused in the Northwest. :o

N.* is slow to act but after months of idle threats and spinning on Sudan Colin Powell and the Department of State have finally concluded that genocide is occurring in Darfur Sudan. U.N . regulations call for action when genocide is officially declared but the Big Eight don't seem to be in a rush to save the day.

The depth of human misery in Darfur defies description. NGO aid workers are in shock at the magnitude of the situation and they're astonished at the apparent indifference of the international community which pays almost daily lip service to the crisis and then sits on its hands.

It appears that the world wide war on terrorism doesn't apply to the Arab Jangaweed militia which is committing mass rape with impunity and slaughtering thousands of hopeless black Africans every month. Infants are dying by the minute from starvation and disease and dazed orphaned children wander aimlessly through the muck and squalor of the crowded refugee camps.

If the developed world wont take a military stand against the likes of the Jangaweed it deserves all the terrorism it gets.

You can lay the charge of hypocrisy at the door of all the western nations. People object to what is happening in Iraq because it has nothing to do with fighting terrorism and has arguably done a great deal to encourage more terrorism.

If Sudan had oil do you really think the west would be sitting on it's hands? Also I don't see anyone blaming america for the inaction on the part of the UN, you notice the african nations are doing little to intervene either there or in Zimbabwe. Maybe you shopuld have a troll through our newspapers and see what we say about our own government.
