You really think it's global warming? Obviously it's not an el nino year! And what about the santa anna winds through cali? Wonder how bad they will be!

one theory says global warming has raised ocean temps...and warm water to an otherwise minimal tropical storm is gasoline on a fire.

Every forty some years there's a period of really high hurricane activity. I looked at this chart that said the most recent high period started five years ago...it'll last for a few more years. Then it'll calm down again. I'll try to find the chart and post if it I can.

Hurricanes run in cycles. It has nothing to do with El Nino since they form off the coast of Africa and El Nino is a Pacific Ocean phenomenon. They either peter out in the Atlantic as tropical depressions or make it to the warm Gulf Stream off the Caribbean and Gulf of Mexico. Like LC said - that is fuel to the fire.

LOL! Yeah and the dino's were wiped out by an asteroid too! Are we in THAT cycle or what?
