It must be the masochist in me, or that I want to grow up to be just like Clint (except the hair).

Ask me anything.

But be gentle. :o

It's to celebrate my Scottish heritage. I'd grown up thinking I was Irish, but found out otherwise right here in FG. Also, the draft feels nice.

Self-study. I spent years perfecting my unique concoctions until they were ready for public consumption. Of course, I practiced on myself, being the selfless person that I am. I didn't want to subject an innocent to a drink that was, say, strong enough to run an internal combustion engine. Practiced quite alot, my friends tell me.

My mom said we're Irish, my dad said we're American. My mom's family is definitely Irish (Stoker). I think I just assumed she meant both sides of the family. The good Capt Buzzard educated me that my father's name was most definitely Scottish.

The last time I was physically involved in a physical fight, I was 13 years old. I lived in a children's home and two of my housemates were facing off, talking crap. I got tired of waiting for real violence and tried to break the tension by saying "Well, somebody hit somebody!" So one of 'em slugged me.

Not my proudest moment. Thanks for bringing it back. :yh_beatup

I've had quite some time to think about that one! :wah:

I like to be the hero. Not the beat up the bad guy hero (thanks again Jives) but the provider-type hero. The most fun jobs I've had were service-type jobs. I really enjoy meeting people who want to know, find, or fix something; and help them get'er done.

That's what got me into leadership development. Most managers want to do a good job, and I get a bigtime rush seeing the look in their eyes when I can give them the tools & techniques to do that good job. Helping a manager become a leader not only helps that individual, the teams works better with a captain, which means more productivity. The company is happier making more money, and rewards those responsible. Leaders make more leaders. Thus, I change the world.

:yh_clap I can relate to that. I can hardly contain myself when I give someone information that they use to better themselves.

Lemme see. I like simple. I guess I'd find a way to get the beloved out of the house for the day ... something like a day spa pampering thing.

Then I'd clean the house, and set it up very romantic-like. Rose petals, candles. I'd cook a meal myself, doesn't really matter what, the effort will impress her.

I'd have to figure out an excuse to get her home by taxi or something so (1) she'll be relaxed and (2) I can have the candles lit to set the mood when she enters.

After the meal, some romantic karaoke duets (we have our own machine), and after that..... sorry, you have to stay outside. :)

nope. but we used to take spring steel strapping from the rail yard and make whistles out of them. Not too hard to do, and you can whistle hands-free much louder.

My beloved and I discussed that. We met & dated ... then we were "suddenly" (2 years later) planning our marriage. Neither of us can put our finger on when the decision was made or who made it. It just was, and it was right. I don't plan to have another chance at it. Our 20th anniversary is coming in November.

I hold the door and wait patiently for the younger ones to sort out this strange behavior.
