I agree, it only going to get worse folks.. So trade in those SUV'S on fuel effecient cars... We American's are spoiled with our gas prices. Europe pays way more then we do at the pump, and they all for the most part drive fuel effecient cars..:driving:

Have you seen the price of bikes these days?!?
But really, saying to save fuel is more important than to give kids education is truly having priorities mixed up wrong.

Now I can handle paying a little more at the pump until the hurricanes settle down...
and I can handle evacuees/donations/volunteering my services
but when you start making my kids stay home from school and taking away my quiet time ... that is messing with my mojo. Not acceptable.
Wow. I had no idea it was *that* bad! How are they going to handle making up the time? Wow...this is not good at all.

1. Eurpoean countries are often times smaller than whole US STATES.
2. Their public transportation is AMAZING. Most of us don't have access to public transportation and live too far to bike it.
I'll think we're spoiled by gas prices when we have the same public amenities.
Although I do totally agree with you on the SUV thing. If you're not a farmer, hunter or other off-roader and you don't live in an area that gets 3 feet of snow every blizzard, you don't need an SUV.
