I miscarried twins ten years ago. That was hard enough, but what your friend is going through is even worse. I will definitely pray for her. St. Anne is the patron saint of mothers, so I shall pray especially to her!

God Bless your friend.

Wow thats terrible. isn't that what health insurance is for though. What if she didn't have insurance would she get any help at all.

We are so lucky to have a goverment health insurance in OZ, it doesn't matter what the cost is the goverment cover it all, that is one of the very good things here.

I hope everything works out well for it, it must be a really difficult thing to have to go through, my sister when through a similar thing with twins. the both lived and are now ten yr old.

My prayers are with your friend and her little babies. What is the surgery you mentioned? A type of procedure to help even out the nourishment going to the other little guy?

This type of news always saddens me....I delivered/lost a little baby at 5 months back in '99............also a dear friend of mine had her ultrasound last wk (she is 5 months) and found out baby has heart defect and is Downs Syndrome....

That's so hard... I've been through so much... but even I can't imagine what she must be going through... My prayers will be for her, the babies and the entire family... and you for being such a good friend. The support staff is most crucial :-4

If I may be so bold as to offer advice... should she ask.. and if you agree...

She has to do what's best for HER... what SHE believes is best for her babies and what SHE can live with... all the advice she gets and the recommendations from doctors, etc.. is just that... advice and recommendations... she has the final vote. God bless.:-4

They are still conjoined twins with much surgery ahead of them. I will keep them in my thoughts.......... it's so hard to know a child is going to start life with a struggle. I think that if these babies survive they will be strong people.

I don't believe that the babies are conjoined, are they? She said the babies share the same fluid/blood supply. I think this has something to do with the umbilical cord or yolk sac. But I am pretty sure no body parts are shared. In other words if these babies will be better off born premature than staying in the womb. And then should thrive and no surgery should be needed. Am I right on this tmbsgirl?

Sorry I missed this the other day.

I am so glad that your friend and her boys are ok!

Tell your friend to sleep now when she can. My DH is a twin and if the stories his mother tells are any indication - your friend may never sleep again! :D

Congratulations to the new mom of twins!! Now comes the fun part of raising them. Surely all the fear and uncertainty she experienced to get them here will smooth the rough times/challenges that lie ahead with parenting. She will certainly have a much different outlook than some.

tmbsgrl wrote: Thank you all so much.. She seems to be doing better. She has been talking to a DOC in Seattle that says if the insurance doesn't pay for the surgury then he will do it for FREE! She has been put on bedrest for the remaining time of her pregnancy. They say that if she has this surgury then there is a 75% chance that BOTH babies will make it! Thanks for all your prayers! We really appreciate it. :)

We should all pray a blessing on that doc for being willing to do the surgery for free in addition to praying for the babies and their mom.

tmbsgrl wrote: Ok. One of my friends is 4 months pregnant.. She went to the ob/gyn today to find out the sex of her twins.. Doc says they are Identical boys.. Obviously that is not the problem.. Doc says that they are both sharing the same amniotic fluid & Blood supply. One of the babies hearts is 35% bigger than the other one (which is fatal) The other baby is severely under weight from giving the other baby most of what he has.. They are saying that since they found this now and not a couple weeks ago it could be fatal to BOTH babies. If they had found this out weeks ago they would have had her abort one to save the other. She has the option of going through surgery.. But it is a matter of if the insurance will pay for it.. it could be up to 100,000 for the surgery... Please pray for my friend and her 2 babies.. Thanks.:yh_pray :yh_pray
Having lost a child of course I will pray for her and her baby's you might tell her vitamin e is very good for baby's in the womb give her my best wishes.

The gift of Life is the greatest gift of all, for it is a gift that no man can give. I'm remembering back to a crisis I went through when my wife had to have an emergency Caeserean after twenty-three hours labour. Anybody who says the husband doesn't go through it is talking rubbish. I went through Hell and back, and reading through these posts has brought it all back. The birth of any child is a miracle. I'm just glad there's nobody here in the room to see me, because I've got myself all upset remembering it. May it be sufficient to know there are people out there who pray in deepest sincerity for others.
