TQ, I want you in my band at church! Come play some of those good old gospel songs with us!

I have 4 services tomorrow, am playing in them all, directing the choir-lovely song from Brooklyn Tabernacle Choir, and playing with the band on keyboards for one. Lots of fun ahead!

How on top of it you all are!!!!!!!! I just got up..........

I don't have a plan. I wing it as I go.

The only thing for sure I know is the roast beef dinner I'm making today and the book I am continuing to read.

AND, under my new goal, will try and balance out my day with some laundry and a bit of cleaning. . . . . . (am trying to be more rounded in my daily tasks)

My agenda today............

Went to my daughters at 10 am and we went to a Buddhist meeting together. Chanted for an hour and then Martin and Rob , the hosts, laid on some food and coffee. Met a wonderful bunch of people as usual, then went back to my daughters for a cuppa.... went shopping ....came home and did housework and cooked dinner....just waiting to watch the National Lottery programme...could be a millionaire tomorow :D then you can all come over to mine and we'll have a party...even better we'll have a beach party in Hawaii, my dream destination. All in all a good day, the time with my daughter being the BEST part.

Hope you all had a good one too..

What are you all doing tomorrow (Sunday) ?

Good Morning!

Hmm well for Sunday my plan is to rest, rest and rest (I hope anyway!!) After a busy Saturday, I'm hoping to put my feet up for the day and enjoy myself.

And should the weather be any good, then go for my weekend walk in the park and enjoy the fresh air.

Good Morning!

We do have three awesome keyboardists. Our pianist is as good as any concert pianist I've heard anywhere, and she comes up with really great arrangements, by ear, on the spot, and has a really high quality professional voice. (She and I did a duet on "You Are My Wholeness" In fact, my head in my avatar is a photo from that performance, superimposed on the body of John McEuen). The piano is a Bluthner, and our platform is all hardwood. The two keyboardists often back her up. One of them plays single instruments on her electronic keyboard- she makes an oboe sound better than the real thing. When she's not playing the keyboard, she's on the organ- it's a good one, but I don't know what make. The other does really good orchestral backup that blends very tastefully.

The bluegrass gospel I play with two other members and sometimes a third. We have a good, solid and smooth bass player, and my friend who plays guitar, mandolin and violin. How it started was, I had just moved into the area and decided to visit this church for the first time to see if I wanted to join, but that Sabbath I found out that they were having church outdoors, up in the Sierras at the first elder's cabin. On a hunch I brought my banjo, and saw that the bass player and guitarist were leading the song service folk style. I strapped on my banjo, and walked in as a total stranger, and started playing with them. It just clicked. Afterwards people begged me to join the church, so I did. It's not that I'm that great a player, but the banjo has opened a lot of doors for me.

Ran into 2 of my students at the mall, they're twin boys. One has an A in my class, the other a C. The one with the C was trying to hide behind his mother-ghee, I wonder why?

It's raining here, heavily.

I've done my ironing and the place is strangely quiet. I guess I'll get used to being child free on a Sunday eventually.

I'm off shopping for my 'exchanges', but first I'm going to take a walk along the seafront and watch the sea, fingers crossed it's rough out there.

What a beautiful Sunday it was here today! Very cool, breezy, with the leaves drifting to the ground everywhere. We worked outdoors...raking leaves and pine tree needles and picked up all the fallen apples from underneath the trees and hauled them up the hill for the deer to feast on. My dog was in seventh heaven to be hiking the hill and investigating all the new scents. The sky right now looks like snow clouds moving in. But no word to that effect yet. Hope ya'all had a wonderful day! ;)
