to the question, "what does 'displaced skin' mean:confused: ...I am in a place where I do not wish to be, nor do I belong here, and 'skin' being that I am Native American. I hope this answers that question....

I was hoping you understood, but it is hard to interpret writing, since we all read things with the emotion we are experiencing at the time it is read. Did that make any sense?

Hi Dw and welcome! I too love beadwork and cross-stitch and jewellery making. What kind of beadwork do you enjoy?

I think its fascinating that you're a native american. I hope you wont be offended if I ask which tribe (is that the right word?) you belong to and where you and they originate from? Please dont be offended if I've put my foot in my mouth by asking, I just think you have an amazing heritage and would like to know more.

Also what do you do? Why are you not happy there and where would you prefer to be? Sorry for all the inquisitive questions, and welcome to FG. :-6

I am an enrolled tribal member of the mighty Dakota Sioux Nation... my Father was born in South Dakota...I am a Park Ranger for the National Park Service/ Department of the Interior. I do not like Arizona, thats the reason we left over 14 years ago; and only returned here for the sake of my husband, (the one who walked out in March:yh_brokeh ).... His family resides here and he wanted to be closer due to the fact they are getting older...Phoenix is a cess pool as far as I am concerned.

Hi Dakota (Great Name !) Welcome !

Sometimes when I feel like killing someone, I do a little trick to calm myself down. I'll go over to the persons house and ring the doorbell. When the person comes to the door, I'm gone, but you know what I've left on the porch? A jack-o-lantern with a knife stuck in the side of it's head with a note that says "You." After that I usually feel a lot better, and no harm done.

Have you ever done this ?

Uh, no offense....but the pumpkin with the knife stuck into it might be classified under the "psycho thread" as things a person would do...if so inclined to being psycho...which I really am not, at least not right now....it comes and goes...and I would love to be anyones friend...I feel very alone at times although I have a wonderful kids to share my life with....they get tired of hearing about it over and over and over....and I am tired of reliving it myself but it seems to be something I just cannot get through easily....HELP! I cannot find the logic and reasoning behind any of it..........if I could, then perhaps it would be my salvation.

That is a lovely image. I'm in Arizona too. Welcome. I'm sorry you don't like it, it takes some getting used to. The summers are miserable and Phoenix is just another big city. There is no beauty to it. I'm in Tucson, in the country side. At least I have mountains all around me. You might like to visit the Arboretum in Superior. It is lovely.

RAPUNZEL, when living in SD I did bead work for Prarie Edge in Rapid City..... (http://www.prairieedge.com/category.asp) I make cradle boards, beaded vests, war shirts, knife sheaths, dresses, barrets, pipe bags, tobacco pouches, I really do not make jewelry.....pretty much all clothing and related items, all functional and some ceremonial items.

DIZZ, I cannot get used to it here nor do I wish to remain, so no point. I have lived here before (14 years ago) for almost 15 years, we left because it was turning crappy back then.....upon our return it was worse than imagined....no getting use to it. They can hand it back to Mexico as far as I am concerned.
