Here in the uk we have recently had race riots in Birmingham - A gental young man knifed to death in a city riot was walking away from trouble it was revealed yesterday Isaiah Youngsam 23, was just 200 yards from his home when he was attacked by an 11 strong gang . The IT analyst was stabbed once in the chest and died soon afterwards in hospital. A pal with him was knifed in the back but survived. Mayhem erupted in Birmingham on saturday night as tension and violence followed days of growing racial tension over claims that a black girl had been gang raped by asian men. Det Supt Dave Mirfield leading the murder hunt said "the attackers all had their identities hidden and i do not want to speculate on their ethnic makeup" . Burnt out cars smashed windows police in high vis yellow jackets and stab vests tryed to take control of the Lozells area of Birmingham and stamp out any more trouble . - Scary - i hope this is an isolated incident but sadly here in the uk i think we have all seen this coming for a long time i think we have to stop kidding our selves that we all get along nicely because the sad reality is completely different. :-5

Hi I totally agree, I live in birmingham, not far from where the riot took place.
Too many people make out like all cultures get along, but this is not always true. I hope this is an isolated incident to, but to be honest I can see many more riots & murders taking place. To be fair things only seem to get worse.:-3

Jemma I know Brum pretty well and surely Lozells has been waiting for this to happen. Certainly I have seen evidence of such tension around the edges of Sparkbrook and Aston.

And another small victory to the bigots. To accept something as inevitable makes it inevitable, whether it truly was or not.

The people responsible for the violence and rioting are to blame - nobody else .

There certainly seems to be an increasingly unsettled population at present, with almost all population growth coming from migrants and their families its not a situation were likely to see improve until people learn to accept.

I agree.
The person who watches a criminal commit arson and fails to at least call 911 shares the blame for the fire.
The person who accepts bigotry, violence and rioting as inevitable - without doing something - likewise shares responsibility.

Bo***x the person/s paticipating in the violence are solely responsible - if they resent being lablelled maybe they should`nt play up to the stereotype .
