Well I live in a house with a noisy neighbour, he's a nice guy but has a tool shed and is a real handy man, he can't help getting out his power tools, dust from his circular saw comes over. He loves his garden to death and mows the grass every week, then does the edges with his noisy whipper snipper, Did I mention he also has barky dogs that I'v complained about twice.



I think it's probably just as noisy for me with him next door. As far as the vacuuming goes I get into trouble from my kids for getting it out on Saturday morning and doing the hall way outside their rooms, my Mum did that to me when I was growing up too.

I'm so thankful I no longer live in an apartment... or have neighbours nearby... sorry! Well look on the bright side... at least you'll save on your heating bill being on the second floor rather than the first or the top...

Orangesox1, maybe, you and I should get our neighbors together. Is your neighbor single? My landlord lives right next-door, and she sounds to be pretty much a female counterpart of your neighbor!

I used to live in an apartment complex in Philadelphia. My apartment was right over the laundry room, so not only did I hear the machines running, the opening and slamming of the washer and dryer doors at all hours -- but all of the apartments' gossip. At 1:00 or 2:00 in the morning, sometimes drunk tenants would be down there doing laundry while I'm trying to sleep. My bedroom was right over them. Their voices and conversations and carrings-on would echo through the vent that led into my bedroom. Sometimes the heating unit for the building got noisy, too. The whole building would echo with it. I completely understand how you feel.

My son lives on the ground floor of a large house converted into flats. A couple of young girls have moved into the 1st floor flat and they had a party with around 30 other people until 4 am in the morning...when he asked them to just turn it all down a bit...they refused. With a new baby due any time he was planning on moving but the tenant on the 2nd floor complained to the landlord who told the girls that if there was a repeat of the noise they would be OUT. It's worked for now...we'll see.....funny thing...next morning his car which he treasures had been damaged....sooner he moves out of the town center the better.

Get a Bullet. Seriously. When my neighbors dog wouldn't shut up, I complained to them, called the cops, threatened, nothing worked. One night, Bullet and I came home around 3 am and heard the dog out in the yard, barking it's fool head off. Bullet went to the privacy fence, climbed up on it, stuck his head in the yard yelling for them to "Shut that F-ing dog up!!!" and proceeded to put his fist through the fence, several times. We haven't heard a peep from that dog since.

Well I suppose that does make up for the noise, there's a house next to him thats an awful mess and spoils the look of the whole street.



Val, he's about 67 and married, pity as I could have sent him over for your neighbour and they could have both lived next door to you.

This dog only barks when they both go out, they often take it with them because I complained, but sometimes they don't and it goes nuts, the guy doesn't even like it, he just got stuck with it because his daughter couldn't look after it.



I'll see how things go, as the're really nice people, just annoying with all their noise.

It would be really annoying to hear everytime your neighbour went the loo, at least it's only the lid you hear going down Could be worse.
