Where Have All The Flowers Gone?

Post by jones jones »

On 24 October 1945 The United Nations came into being ... the following is only part the Preamble to their Charter ...

WE THE PEOPLES OF THE UNITED NATIONS DETERMINED to save succeeding generations from the scourge of war, which twice in our lifetime has brought untold sorrow to mankind ...

AND FOR THESE ENDS ... to practice tolerance and live together in peace with one another as good neighbours ...

Since then the following wars/conflicts have broken out and today nearly 18 years after the Cold War finally ended, the United States of America and Russia control most Weapons of Mass Destruction. Each has enough weapons to kill every form of life on earth several times over, if dying more than once were possible of course!...

When will we ever learn?

“When the power of love overcomes the love of power, the world will know peace.

Where Have All The Flowers Gone?

Something my grandma told me when i was a young girl. During the Vietnam war. That as long as there would be wars. the world would not end. If ever there was complete peace all over the world. then it would be the end of time. As a kid. I am not sure if she said that to sooth me. Or she was right??:confused::-3
