This may sound really crazy, but my life dream would be to simply drive around in an rv and meet all sorts of people in little towns and eat in all those greasy spoon restaurants in the middle of nowhere......I simply LOVE people! My mom says I've never met a stranger. For God's sakes, I've befriended all the local Walmart greeters!!!! LOL.....

LOL I know what you mean. The coolest part of my time in the military was not going to the touristy places and seeing the touristy things. It was going to the touristy places and watching the touristy people. Then going to the local places and meeting the local people. I was a good ambassador.

Funny, I had the same dream when I was still part of the working force. I kept saying all the time, I'm going to get an RV when I retire & tour the US of A. And visit all the places of interest that I could not do while working every day! My wife kept telling me why do we need an RV, it's slower, harder to park, it can't go everywhere so need car in tow, & is very costly to operate. (And that's when the price of gas was still under $1.35/gal)

She said she would prefer to travel in a comfortable car, & stay at a nice Hotel with a pool, & have dinner in a nice restaurant. After I thought about it, I decided that she was right. But just to be sure I "rented" an RV for a long week end and convinced us both (mainly me) that the CAR was the way to go! (We do, & we both are happy)

In the Air Force, I traveled to near space (70,000 ft.) and saw the whole Earth below me, and the sky black and sparkling above. That was close enough for me.

I envy anyone that can master languages so different as Chinese and English. It's not the same as people that speak French, Italian, and Spanish because they all have the same base.
