£9,000 Vet Bill.

Just now on my local news was a woman who owned a cat .....the cat because of a problem had lost its meow.....she had it operated on and her vet bill was £9,000(cant work that out in $).........excuse me??????So would you lay that type of money out on your beloved pet?

When my Robbie got cancer the vet told us with chemo he would recover, we paid out well over £4000 and it didn't work, now I have my Scrappy, if he was ill id have to do whatever I could for him. £9000 is alot of dough but my dog enriches our life so much their isn't a price for how loved he makes us feel.......

as much as i love my dog, theres no way i could afford that.

ive had bills that have topped £200 /£300 but the vet let me pay in instalments.

i could live without him barking just as i could live with a cat without a meow !!! was it really needed in the first place ??

Of course your right Helen, if it was something trivial like a bark id not pay £9000 for him to regain it lol...

Since I have no idea how much that money is, I don't know if I could afford it. I do know that my "babies" are worth so much to me that I would do everything in my power to take care of them. They are non-replacable to me. :-4

I would have to say that all my pets are my "children" and I would pay what ever it took to make them healthy. I took the responsibility for them and it's my responsibility to take care of them.

ive done the same thing carol !! no doubt if it was something serious id give it a great deal of thought but even then thats a lot of money.

for someone in my posistion, it would be an awful choice to have to make.

OMG!

That would depend on a lot of different factors, like how old the animal was and quality of life. My babies are only 5 & 6 and in good health, so I'd do everything I could to get them major medical treatment if they would need it.

double that and add some for Canadian dollars, that would be around 22,000.00 good grief!

My dogs are due for their grooming and a visit to the vets for their shots. When we take them to the vet, we're also taking our turtles in for a check up. :-4

I groom my own.....they are all long haired and take me ages time they all get lots of cuddles lol....think they charge about £40 to groom a dog,

Oh I wish I could groom mine, but they hate it and with my terrible back I just can't do it.

We always have to make sure he is around and not closed in the closest!

poor kitty, but he was a runt of a litter, and he is quite small.

Ive had a cat with one eye.....a cat with the front leg missing and I just love runts...IMO there make more loving pets.

last time i had my dog profesionally done was about 3yrs ago and it cost me £25. i got a set of clippers for £40 and have done him myself since then.

ok, he wouldnt get a second invite to cruffts afterwards but it keeps most of the mud, brambles and bits of god knows what out of his coat !!

Kathy many years ago when there wasnt alot of money coming in one of the cats got run over......we rushed him to the vets and was told he had to be operated on and would be expensive........I told them to go ahead regardless.....the money had to be earned but we got there.....BUT guess who couldnt buy a pair of slippers the day before the accident because we were so skint......says it all I guess..........yes you do find the money but again I say £9000 IMO is taking the pee.
