THE WORST CHRISTMAS PRESENT YOU HAVE EVER BEEN GIVEN

It's so embaressing when some-one you love gives you a truely awfull present.

You have to go through that wooden acting routine of pretending to be thrilled as not to hurt their feelings.

The truth is, you opened the beautifull wrapping paper only to be met with dire dissapointment.

Is it that revolting yellow sweater Auntie Nora knitted you? The one you hide until she visits?

Or is it that set of saucepans that hubby got you?

The boxed set of obnoxious cologne you would rather use to de-scale the toilet?

Come on, let's have them.

The worst christmas present you have ever been given

When my parents got older and it was hard to shop for them, they just gave out cards with cash in them. One Christmas I opened my envelop. It was empty. No card, no cash. I said nothing about it. I knew then their memory was failing along with their health and that was the sad part.

Worse still Hoppy, i had a Christmas card once with £25 of shopping vouchers. They never signed the card.

The post mark was my home town, it could have been any of them.

I thanked about 40 relatives for them.
