There have really been some stupid questions posted from time to time. Questions so dumb and ignorant they defy all logic, and yet, good of heart and kindly members respond with well meaning advice. I salute those of you with such understanding and compassion for the ignorant.

So tell me why you loathe them, qsducks? My room (AFTR's Daily Commute) could use some re-paving, I mean, redecorating. :)

Oh yeah-----------it's alive and well in New Zealand. My wife having grown up there and gone to school there lived and hated the Tall Poppy Syndrome as a girl. Interesting though that it does not seem to exist with male dominated sports teams. Do you think the Tall Poppy Syndrome exists with the All Blacks or Crusaders?

fuzzy butt;1028590 wrote: And this is a perfect example of the tall poppy syndrome . People who think they are "better" than you and talk down to you, because they believe you are ignorant or less successful than themselves. Or hold a belief system that they feel puts them 'above' the rest. Which I believe is a big call on a forum.

Even the name of the thread was a backhanded compliment.

The question has been posed more than once within this thread - of which posts and threads you are referring to. Still no answer. But the purpose of this thread is to cause disharmony and confusion amongst the populace of the forum. A mind game. Why a mind game? Because everyone who has read this thread has thought about what thread they have begun or what post they may have posted that may have been a little askew.

The tall poppy syndrome only comes into play when those who think they are more enlightened than 'the rest of the population " makes it clear that they hold this belief. And it shows a narcissitic quality in the conduct of a person.

Oh my, could it possibly be that you are making a mountain out of a mole hill. I am not obliged to quote a particular post at all, you read them and decide for yourself. You are spot on that some of my posts are an attempt to get people to think a bit, sometimes with a bit of tongue in cheek and sometimes an attempt at humour, but never with malice aforethought .To that I plead guilty. I care little about any negatives you throw my way about my postings or even things of a personal nature to which you make reference. You are obviously under considerable stress given the fuzzy nature of your cerebrum (or butt, sorry).

I think the thread is hysterical!

We have to be able to poke fun at ourselves FB or we'll wind up taking ourselves far too seriously to stand...

IMHO, Lon has had some of the dumbest and yet funniest threads in this place, simply because he doesn't mind having fun and laughing at life... his own included.. he laughs at himself as readily as he does the rest of us.. okay, except for NOMAD.. but, comeon~:D
