Post by lukeofyorkshire »

Hello to everyone. Well a little about myself eh? I hate writing this things! :wah:

Well I am a 29 year old male from Leeds. I've just seperated from my wife of 5 weeks, yes 5 weeks not years! It has been very tough going and I will be honest it nearly killed me. If you want to know more lol I will share the specifics as I find talking about problems, even with strangers is vey theraputic.

As a result I have just moved back to Leeds from Mansfield after been rescued and made to come home by my family, I really have come to appreciate them and my friends in a whole new way and I can never thank them enough.

I have just started a new job as a Security Officer in Leeds and this is one of the reasons I am on here, I am working now in the city centre on the reception desk of a large office with no one in at all. Started at 5.30am and due to a colleague going home sick stuck here till 6.30pm with just a few limted websites I can access. So I thought I would register for this site and hope to meet loads of interesting people and have loads of discussions about anything and everything.

It is also my hope to make some good friends.

Briefly my interests are: reading, writing, current affairs, history, family history, the internet, football, films, the cinema, the environment, music, beer, the pub, cooking, baking, eating out, nights out with friends and of course the ladies :D

Odd place, Leeds. Jimmy Savile lives there though - he's a great man, Sir Jim is.

Welcome and enjoy your stay. Many of us have come here to FG for online therapy, often times it really works.

No matter what hours you keep, you can always find someone keeping vigil on FG.

So sorry to hear about the demise of your marriage, not an easy thing to deal with, only 5 weeks in, ouch. Bless your family for being there for you.

Yeah once I get talking no shutting me up :wah:

I am thinking of cracking open a bottle of wine and sharing it with my Mum and having a good old chat, have to be in bed early as at work at 6.30am :( So up at 4.30am boo!!

HI Luke...welcome to 'the Garden'.

Glad you're getting back on your feet again......I'm at the other end of the scale....married 42 years and just divorced. My decision and don't regret it.

To an 'oldie' like me, 29 is VERY young ....think positive and anything's possible.

You must be half way through your shift by now....anything exciting happenend ???

anyway...have fun here...there's always the games area if you get too bored...

42 years!?!?! Wow makes my 5 weeks look puny :wah::wah::wah:

That's the main thing I am finding, it look for the good in every situation. I know I am better off in the long run.

I suppose 29 is still young lol.

Interesting hmmmm the fire alarm on the NCP car park next door been going off for an hour, driving the people in my building mad and all ringing me to complain, little do they realise it stops me from calling NCP to get them to sort it out :-5

Took me an hour to get through to a person and not a machine, they said they sending someone right away....wait.....what's that??? Silence!!!!! It's gone off thank god!!!!! :D:D:D

Lets see what the next 6 and half hours bring.......

Ah the famous Carolly hello :)

I like to think I can string a sentence or two together :wah:

I been really busy today, issuing loads of temporary security passes. Loads of people coming in to for Interviews with Sky TV and they all keep asking where toilets are, does having an interview make you need the toilet?? I can't recall that been an issue for me lol :D:D:D

Nearly lunch time, think I will go for a walk as my legs have forgotten what they are for and my bum very numb :sneaky:

Absolutely ....I used to work in HR and have done hundreds of interviews....most people were scared out of their wits, specially youngsters and older people. Good to hear that some firms are still recruiting and that there are jobs around. The firm I used to work for are making people redundant.......sad.

Hope a walk cured your numb bum....hazard of the job I guess.!!!

My bum not so numb now lol had a nice little walk around the site looking for hypodermic needles that drug users leave behind, lovely!! :wah:

Well the day has gone quick today. Just over 2 and a half hours to go!

Well the interview rush seems to be over thank god, rather them than me :D

Just watched John McCain speech live on Sky News on the 52 inch LCD, impressive speech but I'm not a fan lol.

Just realised I have not spoken to Mel (my wife) for 5 days, longest since I met her lol. In order not to be tempted I have stayed of of MSN and Facebook and really feel better for putting some distance between us.

Still want to stay in touch as she is organising collecting DVD boxsets and money people down there owe me. Also have to stay on good terms in order to get my divorce next year as if she contests it I will have to wait 5 years

Do people have any thought on what I should do in terms of contact with her and if I should still be friends with her as she wants us to be friends again and best mates as that is what we were once upon a time and I am not sure it is a goo idea in the long run???
