When I was 16 I was water skiing, and checking out the guys in another boat. My ski's went under the wake of my boat and I had on a good life jacket and didn't let go of the rope soon enough. So the ski's shot under the water and bent my back in half and the ski's finally came off while over my head...I almost passed out from it.
I had a knee cap that dislocated and was literally stuck on the outside of my leg. I had to go to the hospital by ambulance, and they gave me some drugs to put me out. It took the doctor 3 times to finally get it back to the front of my leg. My husband told me that everytime the doctor would try, I would bolt up and scream like he'd never heard me before. I'm so glad I don't remember that part.

I was mowing the lawn at hubs house (pre marriage)with a huge petrol rotary blade Flymo ( hubs dad used to have a municipal golf course hence heavy duty mower) whilst dragging from back garden to the front, I decided not to switch it off as it was hard to get the motor going and as I flicked it over a scaffolding tube it bounced up and the blade hit my leg.
I looked like robinson crusoe, my trousers totally shredded, I was in shock and no pain at first, hub took me to hospital and they dressed the wound and then I had a district nurse who came in daily to change my granuflex dressing, smelt like rotting flesh and looked like strawberry jam:p 6 months of work and a gash that turned into a leg ulcer.
I have a scar on my left shin the size of a small chicken breast, doesnt cause me any problems.

I crushed my skull and splattered blood and brain matter all over the sidewalk after diving out the window of a 22 story building. I recovered somewhat and took a sheet of cardboard to scoop up the brain matter and then discovered that my femur was sticking through the skin. This upset me a bit as I worried about how to re assemble my broken and bleeding parts. Didn't matter though because the alarm went off and I woke up.

I had to sperate my dog from another in the field outside my house once. My dog didn't start it, he was still a pup but eventually this big black thing had him by the neck and was swinging him in mid air. The owner just stood there screaming which made them worse.
As i got in the middle i noticed two council workmen watching and i shouted to them to help me.
They shook their heads and said "No fear".
They were locked on each other's throats and i had no choice but to force their mouths open. Very difficult to do when there is slob and blood slithering around. As i got one mouth open, they immediately lunged and clamped on again.
To cut a long story short, i must have gone into shock because i wasn't feeling any pain.
The two workman rushed over and helped me back to my house where i checked my dog over and they then put me in their van and drove me to A & E at the nearby hospital.
It wasn't until the nurse began rinsing the blood off my hands i looked down and saw my little finger stripped from the nail to the knuckle down to the bone. One finger was broken at the knuckle, my palm was ripped wide open and my other fingers just shredded.
Mr Oscar was phoned and when he got me home, it was like a murder had taken place in our house.
Where i had gone inside to put my dog in, there was blood all over the gate, up the path, over the front door and inside it was splattered up walls, tiles and pools of it on the floors.
It took me 4 months to recover and i lost all feeling in my little finger and tip of the broken one.
I will never forget the pain. The palm injury had his teeth actually go right through. You can see the scar on my palm and if i turn my hand over, you can see the scar where his teeth came out the other side.

That's why I have all the back problem, it was almost 30yrs ago and now I'm paying for it with all the arthritis in my spine surgery didn't do a bit of good. I think that the neck was a result and why that surgery didn't help either. :-5:-5
The knee I ended up getting surgery. Because of how I'm so double jointed, the doc moved my Tibia bone over to keep it from dislocating again and put in a couple long screw to ..and you know what? That surgery helped so much...I couldnt be more pleased with the outcome.
