Should the death penalty be re-instated for this monster??
Although i believe this sick individual will pay heavilly for his crimes by other in-mates in our prisons, i can't help but wonder when the death penalty is justified?

He will be taken care of in prison they don't much care for child killers.
I remember hearing this sad story when it first came out. All I could think about is the abject pain this beautiful baby must have been in day, after day until her death. What a beautiful child she was who's parents were monsters through and through.
There are so many families who would have taken her in a heart beat and raised her in a joyful healthy environment. I would have taken her and gave her a beautiful life without out torture or pain.
-1 May she rest in peace.
May both the father and mothers conscience eat them alive daily, if they have one. :-1

I don' think they have any guilt Carla. In earlier press reports, the mother admited to allowing him to torture the baby over months, inflicting dreadfull injurie's.
I said it on another thread, but i would have killed him the moment he raised a hand to my child, and then thrown myself on the mercy of the courts.
It particully upsets me when my nephew's wife had to have an emergency hysterectomy at 26 yrs old. They had to wait 6 years for their baby boy because of red tape in adopting here.
Their entire life was scrutinised, their jobs, mortgage payments, bank balance and physcological reports even on other immediate family etc
Even worse, the mother is expecting their second child now. She must have planned another or if it was an accident, leave the monster.

I first heard about this on the radio last week. I could not believe what I heard. And like you Carla, my thoughts went to what this baby girl's experience of life must have been like - completely unloved and in fear of each waking moment. I cried.
There are no words I can think of that can adequately describe any of this horror. Unfortunately, prisoners such as this -- are kept in a separate part of the prison so the other prisoners cannot get at them.
For all that the mother said she could do nothing, I saw not a trace of sadness in her face in that photo, let alone grief. Perhaps I shouldn't judge, I wasn't there and photos can be made to lie.

Nonetheless, nothing short of what was inflicted upon our Saint George, as per the account by the York Dungeon, would be good enough as a death penalty.

OM inmates have their ways. They have networks to get to these monsters he will be living in fear the rest of his life.
The mother is just as guilty in my eyes she belongs behind bars as well. Like Oscar said the second he raised a hand to the baby he would have been arrested and I would have been gone in minutes with her never to return. No she let it happen time and time again. This beautiful child lived a life of pain and fear ever second.

When this story first broke, i put a thread on also blaming social services.
We have a good system here where all babie's are regually checked on.
Earlier press reports said that the guilty bleatings of the failed social workers, were that the parents would not answer the door when they called and had failed to attend their appointments.
They should be slung in prison as well.

I have to agree with all you have said.
I work with special needs people & they look after each other. They don't try to hurt each other.
That mother is just as bad, what mother does not protect her child?
I hope that coward gets what he deserves.
That poor little girl

I agree, all said and done. She must have been complicit to all that the child suffered.
It makes me wonder how the hell they got to be like that. So uncaring. It's just as clear that they care nothing for theirselves either. I wonder if they laughed at the child. Did they get something out of it? Or were they just mindless ogres with nothing better to do than see what would happen if they did this or that to the child? Did they cover her mouth to stop her from screaming? And if she did scream, didn't the neighbours hear? My child has only got to catch her breath and I'm checking to see that she's alright.
But nothing will help that child now. I hate to say it but she's better off dead than go through all that. Yet, at 16 months, she could still have been saved and restored to humanity.

It is correct that this monster will be segregated the moment he sets foot in the prison, but quite rightly, other lags will find ways of getting baby killers.
The worst will be when the mother goes into Holloway prison. The women in there will be mercylesss.

I love children, especially young children - I always have. I think they are the most wonderful gift from nature, more so than any flower or bird or animal. They brighten up the day with their amazing capacity for imagination and play. Their boundless energy and capacity to learn is absolutely amazing.
I had always wanted children all my life. By the time I was 50, I had virtually given up. I have one now and I am glad I didn't entirely give up. She is my pride and joy. How anyone can take a child like that and treat her so horribly I cannot imagine. I really cannot. It goes way beyond my senses.

You said it wonderfully! I think the reason none of us can imagine it is because we're not wired like those sicko's. It's beyond our grasp because we are kind, caring, loving people so we can't understand the evil.

this is outragious, someone in jail will take care of him much better than if he remained on death row for years and years, even with the dealth penalty it would literally take years for him to face exacuation and he would also be put in solitary confinement.
hoping he will not be put in solitary confinement now, but most murderes are,'
The mother, take no pity on that one, she will get worse than what was inflicketed upon their child for so long.
those two deserve worse than the dealth penalty, they need to be abused worse than they abused their own daughter.

Damn :-5 i missed that one.
Also, the way the British re-act to this kind of thing, is she will be hounded out of her home.
I'm in no doubt that she will need a re-location or possibly a new identity.
We had a case here where Ian Huntley was convicted of murdering two 10 Year olds. His partner, Maxinne Carr did not contribute in any way to the girls death but was found guilty of helping him by lying to the police. The last i read, she had to re-locate to another country because she was so hated.
I hope this woman gets the same treatment..... and sterilised for good measure.

Yes, I remember that case. A long time ago now. No one puts up with that kind of weakness. There is always a window of opportunity somewhere, a chance to get away and let somebody know.

Sterilization should be used on these kind of people.
Should the death penalty be re-instated for this monster??

Definitely Jester, but they both should be tortured to death and go thru what that precious little girl went thru.
I hear ya, I know that we want justice and Im the first guy to want to gun a violent criminal down, but I want a clean fast kill, then I want his body to rot publically for everyone to see what should be done to violent criminals.
Hang them in a public square till thier bodies seperate from thier heads then burn them.
Thats justice enough.
As I said earlier here, if the York Dungeon's account of the killing of our Saint George is true or not, it would be appropriate here for this---. You can still leave his body to rot on public display if you want, but that wouldn't make much of an impression on the miscreant.
Apparently, it took a lot to kill him.

Guy fawkes was a good example of what the British USED to do with scum like that.

As I recall, according to the story I read many years ago, they also tied weights to their testicles and made them walk the streets on the way to being sentenced.

Things have got to change, but we keep electing officials that are soft hearted and soft headed.
Its shameful how we protect the guilty and allow the innocent to be victimized over and over again.
It's crazy isn't it. We cannot even defend our property without making sure we do not hit the culprit too hard, too many times. Weapons are not allowed.

I have said the same as you on other threads Jester and i've been knocked back.
over the "What if they are "innocennt" question.
In cases like this where there is no doubt of guilt and even the mother has testified to say she witnessed him abusing the baby, there should be no bleeding heart liberals... just execute them.
Some-where in the future this man is going to come out of prison at approx 50 yrs of age. That is young enough to re-locate and be in the presence of other children.
Do it now, and save the risk.

I agree the legal system has to change. Until they do we will continue to protect the rights of these monsters, animals, beast. While their victims are all but forgotten in our courts. Justice for these predator should be swift and immediate.

We don't torture confessions out of suspects any more. There is too much forensic work available to avoid innocent people being executed.
