I think it would be wonderful if you shared your art work with us Mags:-6

Geeze, when I read some of the sexually explicit threads and posts here in the FG, I'm amazed that we can't look at a nude photo of a real member or not:confused::confused:

BTW...no dvd yet Mags...hopefully tomorrow:-6

The way I painted used to frustrate hubby because he would wait days for me to finish (cause I used to go into my own little world and ignore him) and then i'd start again and he'd get really pissed ..........in the end I stopped plus I replaced it with teaching the kids art instead . They've turned out good little artists (or con artists it's a fine line:wah: ). The youngest one has his own art books and can identify lots of pieces that I don't even know. His favourites are picasso and Van Gogh. One day at mums he went into a full dialogue about the painting Jericho, when mum said she didn't understand his work..................he finished off with and I'll remember to my dying day."It's art nana, it's not what you see it's how you feel"

i like my little keesyboy :D

You have a real problem with women projecting themselves in your life. why would you even venture a comment on this thread ? unless to assertain some kind of moral ground. Or to assertain some moral jurisprudence over me.

And yet in another thread you complain that the stars of the show do not readily portray themselves to you? ....................I'm beginning to understand why this is .

Buy you and degrade you? You must be kidding. You seem to be contentious and combative, the kind of personality I enjoy needling. Apparently I do that.

Very interesting points of view, and very well put.

I suspect the answer is Choice, and the chance to have that choice.

I'm of the mind that art is left to the perception of those who view it...

I could be wrong...

It was a joke fuzzy butt.

It was a joke.

Another thread was created as a poll asking if you should show your painting and one of the options was "Hell Yes" from which I'm surprised why you're so shocked that people thought it were a bit of a joke.

You're just taking things way overboard.

That was not Fuzzys fault that was mine. I did try to get the thread deleted when I realised, but apparently that was not possible

Anyway, I did apologise to Fuzzy.

Jeez! Two apologies is less than 24 hours! :)

Hmmm I think I'll put a link to a photobucket album (when I figure out how to do it ) all the detail of all the places and art work I experienced is on film rather than photos.:-5

I'm not sure, but I think you were able to when I was there, it was 1985, I will look in my album and check if its the real one, it may be on a slide though :)

For the information of the forum, I have previously posted a picture that I composed that is the basis of one of my paintings. In the photo there is a nude form and it is me.

link

I have a painted version of this which is not yet complete. What I posted is actually a photograph of myself in the buff in the context of art. There were no complaints.

Studies in the Psychology of Sex

by Havelock Ellis

"There can be no doubt that among ourselves the simple and direct attitude of the child towards nakedness is so early crushed out of him that intelligent education is necessary in order that he may be enabled to discern what is and what is not obscene. To the plough-boy and the country servant-girl, all nakedness, including that of Greek statuary, is alike shameful or lustful. [...] And the mass of people in most northern countries have still passed little beyond this stage of discernment; in ability to distinguish between the beautiful and the obscene they are still on the level of the plough-boy and the servant girl."

Actually I should probably clarify my position on the matter a bit more clearly...

It's not that I dislike seeing sculptures of naked men as much as I just don't care to see them...

I have absolutely no interest to see a sculpture of a naked man.

That's all...

:yh_bigsmi...

If I wanted to see a sculpture of a perfect male body I'd just look in the mirror...:yh_rotfl...<-----Honestly I'm not conceited or anything I just like to joke around a bit...

:yh_bigsmi...

but then i read your post and now i understand...............:wah::wah::wah:

I don't particularly care for art...Nor do I care to see the members of the male body...

So naturally I don't care to see naked sculptures of naked men...

I do honestly respect the ability of those who are able to create such detailed pieces of work...

I just don't care to see them naked or not, and my lack of interest is heightened upon art depicting naked men...

Oh and I have no competition. You can take that how you like...

pretty much...

The plough-boy is representative of a person who is not educated in art or who lacks an appreciation for it for one reason or the other.

It's hardly fair for someone who doesn't appreciate art to place their opinion of nudes in art amidst serious discussion between art lovers, and expect to have their opinion carry weight. Go ahead and voice your opinion, I'm just clarifying that it's coming from someone who is not interested in art... therefore not worth a hell of lot regarding the matter at hand.
