New Zealand by way of Sydney?

My wife leaves for New Zealand tomorrow and I do not leave until Tuesday the 4th. We are using our Frequent Flyer Miles and could not get on the same flight. The airlines are really limiting the availability of seats for FF and the dates on which to fly. It's normally a 12 1/2 hour non stop flight from LA to Auckland, New Zealand. In my case it will be almost 16 hours, do to having to overfly NZ and then coming back. She is flying Air NZ and I am flying United. United flies to Australia but not NZ. Sydney is just about my favorite city in the world, but unfortunately I will be there only to change planes. I really like Australia and have spent time in most of the major cities except Perth. If I had to pick another country in which to live permanetely, it would be Oz. I love NZ, but Oz has more of the things I enjoy. Our timing for leaving couldn't be better as NZ is beginning it's spring and California is starting it's grey rainy winter. I will soon be able to get some decent fish and chips (with lots of veggies of course) and a good pint or two of beer. Oh ---I will be changing my flag and location to reflect the country in which I presently reside.

NZ and OZ are the two places id like to emigrate too. Sounds like you will have a fab time, plenty of sports and snorkling etc...Look forward to hearing all about it Lon..Keep Safe:-6

we have family in Australia, I can't wait to visit. They just spent some time in New Zealand recently. :-6

I love New Zeland have very good family friends in Wellington. Been there several times and always look forward to going back. :-6 I still haven't been to Australia must do that.
