I had things to do. I was watching Adam Sandler and John Turturro's edgy sociological dissection of Israeli-Arab relations. Setting aside the occasional moments when misplaced humor intruded on the discussion, a great deal of it made sense. I was on Skype to some Polish buddie's yesterday. They are pretty scared by all of this. They feel stuck in the middle of Russia and America where they are 'the pawn'. They don't want this.

Absolutely Sir!! These are very close friends of ours and we just don't know what to say to the some-times. Of course, the threat from Russia to Obama has heightened their fears. I believe they speak on behalf of many Polish folk when they say they are scared for their children. They all too well remember the invasion of Germany but for now, they just want peace.

Then he should talk to his Polish President, the chap who discussed this with President-elect Obama and claimed afterwards that President-elect Obama confirmed to him that the construction would continue, something President-elect Obama immediately denied saying. I think the Polish President is pushing hard to have it done, regardless of what his average Polish Joe would prefer.

If they had their way in Poland, they would have a referendum but of course that will never happen. As from when, did they ever actually care about the Polish people??

I am surprised that any one has so much faith in what a future leader say's. We are used to sharks here in Britain, i always think, I will believe it when i see it. Obama can not be another Maverick. He will be led by advisors who are quite capable of going back on their promises as is he.

My history of Poland is not that great i have to admit. I can not remember though, a time where Poland was the aggressor.
Polish folk feel stuck in the middle and they say they have done for a generation. Naturally they rely on American investment to boost the economy but my friend's say the American's can keep it for all they care.
