Jamie Bulger's Killers To Receive Anonymity...

I received this in an e-mail today. Can anyone in the United Kingdom verify this disturbing report?

"Do you remember February 1993 in England , when a

young boy of 3 was taken from a Liverpool shopping

centre by two 10-year-old boys?

Jamie Bulger walked away from his mother for only

a second, Jon Venables took his hand and led him out

of the mall with his friend Robert Thompson. They took

Jamie on a walk for over 2 and a half miles, along the

way stopping every now and again to

torture the poor little boy who was crying

constantly for his mummy.

Finally they stopped at a railway track where they

brutally kicked him, threw stones at him, rubbed paint

in his eyes, pushed batteries up his anus and cut his

fingers off with scissors. Other mutilations were

inflicted but not reported in the press.

N.B. :- Remember, a 3year old cannot possibly

defend themselves against a 10 year old, let alone of 2 them.

What these two boys did was so horrendous that

Jamie's mother was forbidden to identify his body.

They then left his beaten small body on railway

tracks so a train could run him over to hide the mess

they had created. These two boys, even being boys,

understood what they did was wrong, hence trying to

make it look like an accident.

This week Lady Justice Butler-Sloss has awarded

the two boys ( now men ), anonymity for the rest of

their lives when they leave custody with new

identities. They will also leave custody early only

serving just over half of their sentence.

They are being relocated to Australia to live out

the rest of their lives. They disgustingly and

violently took Jamie's life away and in return they

each get a new life!"

I think this email goes around on a regular basis, probably to stir things up again.

These two boys were released quite a while ago, from memory, so to be honest I think all the hoohah has been and gone now.

What precisely puzzles you, Touchstone? The two were released over seven years ago with anonymity. You can scarcely expect any of us to write an essay in response to your post. Is there a specific aspect that you were focused on? Presumably you googled around a bit and know slightly more than the chain-mail told you.

The two boys have been reported as being very successfully re-habilitated whilst spending 8 years in youth custoday. I think that if they served merely a prison sentence, there could be a possibility weather they would re-harm. However, they did have extensive re-habilitation and interviews with one of the boys shows that he knew what he had done, was wrong.

If they were older at the time, i would be saying different but i do feel that at 10 yrs old they should not have been given life. They would re-offend what-ever their ages were, if they were that way minded.

I had a message on facebook only yesterday to join the appeal to have these two boys re-incarcerated. For what?? The whole crusade on facebook is down to one individual who thinks they are in a better position to judge the fate of these boys over and above any-one else. It sounds like a personal vendetta from some saddo with nothing better to do than meddle in what has already been decided. Thousands of people have already signed however, that does not tell me that thousands of people are the voice of what is right or wrong. It just tells me that we have thousands of people who barely know the real facts and want to look important.

What next?? A crusade to ban children from holidaying in Portugal??

I imagine that these two live with the fear of being found out one day. Perhaps their minds will create more of a prison than man can build.......

You simply assume by reading my thread that I am puzzled Spot? You believe that I posted the thread because i am puzzled? You can tell that by reading the only two lines I personally wrote in the thread namely the first two?

In all the threads i have read since joining Forum Garden I have yet to see an essay written in reply to any of them, so why would you think that I expect anyone here to write an essay in response to this one? I personally focussed on no specific aspect at all but simply asked a question. And no I did not "google around a bit" and know absolutely nothing at all about the "chain-mail" except what I posted.

Is there such a massive chip on your shoulder that you perhaps believe, wrongly I might add, that I posted the thread in an attempt to embarrass and or shame the British members here?

The tone of your reply was unnecessary and uncalled for. A response similar to the one posted by Carrolly would have sufficed.

No, no chip, just a weary recognition that there are already twelve threads on exactly the same topic on ForumGarden and that your question asked for verification of a load of imbecilic mouth-foam which even querying wikipedia would have immediately clarified. Had there been a specific detail of the mouth-foam, we could have answered it. Answering the entire chain-mail was a bit much to face, given that it was unlikely in the extreme that you'd be interested in a detailed answer to each point in turn.

Cases such as the one you have raised, 'Venebles' and 'Thompson' are in this country extremely rare. Unlike America, where without googling every case, you seem to out number us by far. This is the reason the 'Bulger' case made world news.

For example, we have yet to have a school shot up by a dis-gruntled child. maybe that will tell you something about the British system?

In the case of 'Venebles' and 'Thompson' , i know from extensive reading on the case that 'Venebles' in particular was an extremely disturbed child who was badly let down by his parents and our Social Services sysyem. If anything good came of this case, it is that schools and social services take better warning of children showing disturbance at such an early age and act on it.

Once 'Venebles' and 'Thompson' were removed from their parents, they became instantly re-habilitable. Something they were not all the time thry were in their constant presence.

To condemn these kids to a life sentence at the age of 10 yrs old would simply be giving in to the moral do-gooders who let public opinion sway their interests.

The boys have a right to anonyminity. They can hardly walk the streets can they??

They have served the sentence that our specialists believed was correct for them. To condemn them further would only be to satisfy the blood lust of the opinionated.

is this the same story that we had a thread about a while back where the mother of the murdered boy spotted one of his killers walking down the street one day and followed him?

i remember saying then that my feelings as a mother were that if it had been my baby he had killed i would have jumped out that car smacked him down and stomped him in the ground, and i remember that didn't suit to well with some folks!

i think this story brings out a lot of emotions and always will.

you didn't make a mistake in posting this thread, how were you to know that there had been threads about this subject before!

if you're like me you were probably deeply affected by this story, i know i was, and it's perfectly understandable to post something here if it bothers you in some way!

Trouble is Touchstone, we have discussed the murder of poor Jamie Bulger before and as you can imagine we have lots of different opinions which end up clashing because it is such a sensitive subject. Infact I had to leave the discussion last time as I may of ended up stalking some members and committing a crime myself:sneaky:

I think you post was seen by some as maybe stirring the pot, I dont, I see a caring person highlighting an email he received and asking us Brits if it was true.

Ryan. No problem here Touchstone. It was a shocking murder and raises much debate in this country purely due to the ages of the boys who killed him. I am sure that this case will continue to be debated long after many have forgotton it as we still debate a young girl who murdered at the age of 10 over 40 years ago now.

It is an interesting case simply because of so much debate as to the fate of the young boys who murdered Jamie Bulger.

I had an invitation to join the link on facebook to deny the two boys anonymity.

So the case is still very current at the moment.

There will always be the debate that the boys should be be punished for life and another side will be that they were deeply disturbed prior to the killing and this should have been picked up by their school and social workers.

Of course they should have anonymity. If they didn't, we'd have two dead teenagers on our consience.
